We had dinner here and the service and food was excellent. We tried lots of different dishes and they were all great quality. The beef stew was my personal favourite. We did not have room for dessert! The lighting, decoration of the cellar and atmosphere is really well thought out and is very beautiful.

This was a wonderful restaurant made all the more excellent by the fact we got our booking date wrong and came a day early. Despite being obviously busy, they fitted us in anyway. The restaurant has a super atmosphere and the food was excellent. All very punctual (though it took a while to get the bill and pay!), Everything was perfectly done.

The best tapas I’ve ever had! A lovely cosy restaurant with amazing tasty food. The staff are friendly & there is a great range of options. Our favourites were the beef stew, patatas bravas and the mini burgers. The only thing to bear in mind is that the staff suggested we needed to order 6 dishes between the two of us, but we weren’t even able to finish the 5 we ordered.

Hidden gem, almost quite literally. Really nice place in a cosy location, good Covid rules in place. This is my first Tapas so cant really compare, I can say it was nice with good service but how it is against other tapas restaurants can only be based on my experience. Its well worth a visit, prices were good and portions were fair.

Fantastic, warm and friendly service. We ordered many different tapas dishes and every single one was prepared and ordered with care. Every dish looked and tasted amazing - tacos, fried goat cheese, micro squid, delicious salmon tartare with avocado ice cream. Excellent attention to detail even down to the Gluten Free bread - tasted like good, normal bread.

Was pleasantly impressed to find a region specific tapas restaurant in the heart of Bath. The Valencian cuisine was beautifully presented and seemed a lot lighter than the usual Catalan style often found in the UK.Highlights included patatas bravas with smoked paprika oil instead of the usual stodgy tomato sauce and croquettes as light and fluffy as can be.The decor was strikingly modern and dimly lit and the service was impeccable and efficient. These guys really care about the food and dont hesitate to explain the cooking processes and inspiration for each dish. Will definitely return.

La Perla was a recommendation from a colleague. Well, I thanked him after this evening for such a fantastic recommendation. We had several items from the dairy free options on the menu. What can I say. Everything was full of flavour, well prepared and well presented. Very good Spanish wine at £30 bottle. Service was excellent. The spacious restaurant is below ground level in what seems to be old cavern archways fitted in galithian style. A really nice dining experience. Thank you La Perla.

Cozy location! That’s all!We had a reservation but when we arrived the table was not ready.Staff was definitely not welcoming and attentive. We ask for an ice bucket for the bottle of wine 2 times, never arrived. Also, We asked to change one plate because it was no good (the prawns had no flavor) and they did not even ask why. After that, They took 30 minutes to bring the replacement. Moreover, the atmosphere was very crowded; no music and very loud kitchen and guests. We felt they concentrated on quantity over quality.Food is average, very short menu and poor service during all night. No one checked back on our table.

A selection of amazingly tasty tapas in an interesting venue underneath the streets of bath. I particularly enjoyed the crayfish cocktail. Apart from a sign on the street youd never know this gem existed. I felt it was reasonably priced considering the quality and quantity of food. All too often tapas can be expensive small portions.

This is a real hidden gem of a restaurant. Very unassuming outside but really nice inside. We had a lovely warm welcome and excellent service throughout. Best of all was the food. The tapas portions arent huge and we found about 3 dishes per person to be perfect. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended.

Gi
Review №57

I absolutely love tapas and having lived in Spain for 10 years, I was hugely excited for this meal. You need to pay a £5.00 deposit per person when booking, but I understand why - there is limited seating and as they book up so quickly, no shows would just be hugely frustrating. The atmosphere is really special - underground cellars have been converted into a quirky, modern and romantic space. As you head down some steep concrete stairs, it really is a nice surprise to enter into such a cool space - its worth visiting for this alone! Tables are really close together and if you have a big group next to you then its very noisy (not ideal for a romantic and quiet meal). They clearly want to squeeze as many people in as possible. We were lucky enough to have a booth that gave us a bit of space from the large group which was nice as we could easily sit next to each other rather than opposite. The food was really delicious! The menu is not very extensive but I think thats a good thing - I already struggled deciding what I wanted from the menu they had! We shared 8 tapas between us which was more than enough - they all tasted amazing: patatas bravas, pato confitado, estofado de bavette, croquettas de jamon, plato de jamon iberico, manchego and puntillitas. All DELICIOUS and good portion size for tapas. I would definitely come back for the food. The service however was dissapointing at the start. We were served by a waiter who seemed to have some sort of issue with us or was just having an awful day. Initially I thought it was perhaps part of an act i.e. he thought he was being funny...but he didnt get any better. Frustratingly, he was being very friendly with other tables but as soon as he came to us, the smile and interest totally disappeared. Im naturally a polite and sociable person and I was so happy just to be there that I always had a smile on my face - we didnt complain about anything and were nice from the very start so I dont quite understand what the issue was. It really tainted our experience. I had ordered the manchego and jamon to have with our aperetif and I forgot to order bread with it - when I tried to catch his attention we were clearly ignored. When I then ordered bread his reaction was fine. I then realised the bread came without anything (no butter, oil, etc). and I wanted to ask for these things but felt way to afraid he may react annoyed again! I therefore refrained from ordering this until we wanted some more tapas. Our £10 jamon iberico dish was wasted on my feeling nervous and unsettled. I checked with my partner if perhaps it was all in my head but he agreed the waiter was really off with us.Later in the night however, there was a lovely waitress who took over and she was amazing - so friendly and engaged in coversation with us. I finally felt part of the experience and journey but unfortunately too little too late. She did win back the extra star of this review so thank you very much to her for making us feel like happy customers!

Not recommended! The underground cave dining environment is the only highlight of the restaurant. The “signature dish” of theirs, paella of the day is the worst paella I’ve ever eat, with green onion and super wet, sticky and soft rice (costs amazingly £15). The other tapas that they recommended was the beef stew, definitely cooked with pressure cooker since the beef has no flavour at all, the beef soup was salty.不推荐,不好吃,别白交了智商税。

Absolutely delicious food, would highly recommend this restaurant for a different take on tapas. They have traditional tapas dishes (Gambas, patatas bravas etc) but also have more refined dishes which are an utter delight. The bacalao (cod) and chicken dishes were out of this world.Saw some comments re: the food being frozen. I can assure you thats not the case as we saw food being freshly prepared in the kitchen from where we were sat.Staff were friendly, the atmosphere is cosy and the location is fab - right by pultney bridge.
