Museum is very good interms of collection, it contains artipacts more than 10 centuary old, main collection are from Kalyana chalukyas, Nijams rashtrakootas etc,Entry feez is 4 rupees and free for school students from 1st to 10th standards. Except evry monday second saturday and government Holiday it will always open.The garden infront of museum is also very good and one can spend his time siiting in the lawn.After entering the museum you have to take right turn them you will find several stone sculptures and in the end room you can find knives, houda, map of fort etc.The problems with the museum is my opinion less fundings, even tht it contain several valuable artipacts you wont find good explanation to them, only 2% of them have naming, if Archeological department improve this place by providing a information brochure and respictive naming it would be awesome.One who visited Basavakalyan must visit this place, you will never regret your decission.

This small museum has some of the wonderful and lively sculpture from the surrounding areas covering from 10th century onwards.Though majority of it is dead, theres some lively expressions on the faces here and there which makes it more interesting.unique sculpture covering beautiful dancing postures of ladies, amorous couples, broken rama and hanuman, relaxed madanikas, heavily ornamented vishnu, dancing nataraja with many hands,transcendence of couple in prayer,shiva as normal human, naga and nagini in snake body and human head cannot be missed. A must visit before climbing the fort.
