I’ve been coming to Flying Phoenix for over 2 years and have NEVER had a bad experience. My Fiancé and I know the owner very well as we come in frequently to get what we need and say hi. It’s a nice place to chill and play games. If we need anything that’s not in stock or we need more of Kevin is on top of it doing his best to get us what we need. If other customers need something rare in stock he saves it for them as well which is really cool. Local player friendly!

Started playing Carcassonne with my 13 year old and went to this shop for the first time looking for expansion sets. Talked over different sets with the owner and he made some recommendations. Bought two and will be going back for more soon! Super helpful and my kid is thrilled...and so am I.On a side note, I haven’t played Magic since the late 90’s and was amazed at the collection of cards that this store had available. Sat and chatted for a bit about how the game has evolved and he took an active interest in answering my questions. Also if I ever wanted to get into Pokémon...which I don’t want to LOL, I would go here.Love the HUGE Imperial AT-AT walker that he had as well! Haven’t seen one of those in ages! Quality store and will definitely go back.

I love this gaming shop! The staff are really knowledgeable, and welcoming. I am new to wargaming, So I really appreciated them taking the time To let me know what games were popular in the area as well as armies that were available in the Warhammer world. Will Definitely be shopping here regularly.
Great place for to play magic cards
I have been a loyal patron at Flying Phoenix for the last 2 years. I would drive up from Madison every weekend for their X-wing tournaments. During the covid lockdowns I purchases hundreds if not at least $1000 dollars from this store to help support it during this time. Like I did several other local game and hobby stores. Never again. Not a single cent of my money will being going to this store after the owner flat out told me to my face that I am not a customer, because I was buying items from him to flip on Ebay. Even though I buy and flip on Ebay to purchase items to then play with, and purchase said items from his story and others. Just like everyone else does, say with magic cards. I also know several other people were doing the same thing, and he had no problem with it. He also told me that my patronage wasnt needed anymore, because more people from the player community were starting to come in now since he loosened his Covid restrictions. After this incident I blocked him on Facebook and left his store group chat, because I didnt want to get harrassed by him about not going to a game demo that he was expecting me to attend later that week, again helping support his store.I say harass, because when my brother, who was also a big patron and supporter of his store started complaining about his reward system being BS and being screwed over by him several times in winnings and prizes for tournaments and the owner found out. He then said that he was going to send a lawyer after my brother for defamation and then also had the audacity to demand that my brother attend game store activities at his store and buy some of his overpriced product to gain his forgiveness and make amends for speaking out against his store and its poor practices.He knew full well, that I bought things to flip, and even tried to trick me several times to purchase his old inventory that wasnt moving, because he charges full MSRP for everything. He even did it twice. Once with another person who would buy things from him to both flip and play with, and another time with a local miniature painter. Trying to gang up on me and fool me into purchasing his overprice items that wouldnt sell. Items that you can just go down the street to Adventure and buy the same thing for 20% less. In a non dust covered cramps store with an unkept dirty bathroom. On several occasions even as I was going to buy something, he would even jack the price on me right in front of me if it was something he thought I may potentially be able to flip. No concept of business ethics, business competition practices, just entitlement from his customers to purchase from him on his terms.After I blocked him, he started to then engage in the hypocritical and double standard behavior of defaming me, like he accused my brother of, to the local player base that I am a part of telling them that I bought out his entire inventory, 6 or 7, all on one thing. Total BS, I bought 3 at most over the course of a month or two and then several other things.I will not patron the store of someone who is unethical and overall just a very poor business man. I kept quiet about all the unethical things I encountered with this businessman over the course of two years. Even giving him the benefit of the doubt when it came to the story of how he and his former business partner (owner of Adventure Games - his competitor, split), excluding from the story how he horded $10,000 from his business partner in product to split off and do his own thing in said story. I now see that all those unethical and extremely poor business decisions and practices were all true.I even expect some sort of BS response to this negative review. First off, I have every right to post it, secondly you are defaming my character now and this negative review is in response to it, and if the said defamation continues or the owner engages in any form of harassment towards me like he did my brother. I entirely plan on contacting the BBB about this business and filing a complaint with them as well.

Awesome shop, friendly environment and very friendly owners! Personally I only play Magic the gathering now a days but they have a wide assortment of things from card games to table top miniatures. Hands down my favorite shop in Oshkosh for all my magic the gathering needs. I strongly suggest checking them out on Facebook or stop on down at their store!

Went to Chimeras Hobby shop in Appleton, Adventure Games, and here in all one day. Of the three, this one comes out on top - Ill be spending my money here in the future. The fellow behind the counter is nice, willing to answer questions, and is super accommodating for new players. Prices and selection are fair, and expertise is head and shoulders above the competition.
This is my main home away from home. Kevin and Kara are great, their customers are great. Really good place to go in and make friends, doesnt matter what you play.

Wonderful store. This store brings people in by showing people how to play table top games and even some trading card games. They have a good selection of all kinds of games and if they dont have something you want they will have it ordered. The owners are great. This shop also carries snacks. So I would say stop in and have some fun.
Lots of MTG options, Good fair prices, people that work there are helpful as well as other MTG players if your new to magic. I walked in two weeks ago knowing absolutely nothing about magic the gathering. And now I know a lot about the different cards and how to play the game with the help of the store and people that play there.
What an awesome place! Staff is very friendly, selection is great. I love the tournaments that go on. Very welcoming and positive atmosphere. This is my new game shop choice :)

Disappointing that it was closed at 4:21 pm on a Monday, despite the sign saying theyre normally open 10am-6pm.EDIT: Thanks to the owners for feedback. While I cant speak to the atmosphere of the shop, the selection from the windows and space looked inviting!

A nice game store that I highly recommend to anyone. Most important of all they support the game communities by hosting regular tournaments with prize support! They raised their prices to usual MSRP on all items which is disappointing when the whole store used to be marked down 20%.

I have had multiple bad experiences at Flying Phoenix, and from talking to others in the local gaming scene - Im not the only one. 1) The store owner tried to sell me a misprint version of D&D 5e players handbook that was falling apart by handing it to me as I told him what I was looking for 2) The store owner stares at you while youre in there as if youre going to steal something at any moment 3) Events are unorganized... I showed up for an MTG draft that was on their schedule, only to realize it wasnt happening. Overall, terrible customer service and relations and unethical business practices. I have no idea how this store has such high reviews.
