It is a bigger dam in Ayodhya Hills which can be visited 1st if one goes by bike or car as one cannot cross the dam by bus or car through the dam. Only cars and bikes are allowed to move across the dam to go and visit lower dam and other areas like Bamni falls or Tugri falls. Aao buses which are coming towards Upper dam either from the lowar dam side or from Ayodhya Hill Top view point must kept parked near open space or picnic spot before entering the dam.

Awesome place... Approximately 280 km from Kolkata or nearly 45 km from Purulia railway station (Junction).... The Upper dam view is beautiful.... Mainly the hills covered with greenery is very relaxing to eyes.... Best for one day trip... Be sure to take all the essentials with you... Because there are no shops at all... And dont through any plastic or anything like this... Keep it clean to preserve the natures beauty....

You can see the Jharkhand and west Bengal board. And all the villages down. Here you can good landscape view of villages, and the river, the river water is very deep as notice board says.The road is very clean and best place for hangout with friends and family. Parking is free.

One word to describe the place,beautiful. If you get to stand there youll be calmed down once the cool breeze hits you. However, the officers wont let you stand there for a long time..it is one of the prettiest locations in Kolkata. It is on top of the Ayodhya Hills. We visited there during winter . So should you as Purulia is extraordinarily hot during summers.
