Ive ordered a chicken tika madras with chips. Been sat here for 3 hours for no one to show up. Ive rang them and they are positive that the driver has come to my house and rang me several times. Been here the whole time so obviously they have not came and Ive had nothing come through the phone. They cant accept the mistake theyve made and its pathetic.

Was looking forward to eating here heard good things but wasnt impressed, one of the currys just tasted of chilli powder....sorry its a no from me .....

Very nice evening as part of the eat out to help out scheme. Busy as youd expect with everyone taking advantage of the offer. We sat at table 1, I believe, which was in a corner and was nice and relatively private (front left corner). The food was tasty, the bottle of wine was scrumptious. The cleaning up after tables were vacated, efficiently done and smellled nice. Despite the demand the boss man and his team coped well and were all over it. Impressive.We had to wait a bit to order our food, but this was advantagous as we couldnt decide what to have.Plus we were chatting nicely. I felt the staff were pleasently attentive without being over intrusive.We had a few drinks near the bar before we left. Sapphire gin and brandy.The boss man took the time to explain the bill to my fussy account other half. Very patientWill go back.

Been here many times before, however tonight would put me off in future. 3 of us ate, just mains and 4 beers overall, bill was £86 and Im really annoyed I was half asleep and didnt question it as we paid. Mains came to about £15 each plus beers should not be £86! Im now furious and after this I doubt well be back again, real shame.

Dil rag was recommended to me by colleagues who travel from the other side of town so we knew it was one to check out. Really lovely meal, and great to go somewhere that doesnt skimp on the garlic when ordered, 10/10 for that one aspect before taking anything else into consideration. :) The meals were very tasty but were not as spicy as we expected however the addition of a delicious hot plus cooling sauces at the table ensured the meal was spot on to personal taste. A busy little restaurant for a Tuesday night, says a lot, and I look forward to our next visit :) (oh and it was great to go somewhere where the cotton napkins are big enough to make a mouse. Havent been able to do that in a long old time!)

Food was nice but service was terrible. Waited 10 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation for that time. Then our presence was largely ignored with it taking 30 minutes from being seated to be even asked for a drink order. Then another 15 minutes until our food order was taken. Food then took a while but it was busy, so this was forgivable. We then paid our bill after checking the receipt that appeared to charge £20. Only for me to look at my bank account, to realise they actually took £30. I called them to ask them about this issue. They responded by screaming down the phone multiple times and was told that extra drinks that were not ours had been added onto our order. Will not be returning.

Gone right down from the last time we went. They are not following social distancing and ladies toilet dirty. Its a shame as it was a nice place to visit. My partner was put off his main meal because the prawns tasted off. And they basically accused us of making it up. I will not be going there again.

Beautiful food, Id go as far as saying youd struggle to find better if youre a fan of the cuisine. Staff are friendly and there for your every need. Recommendations from staff are advisable based on what you describe youre looking for in a dish.The prices are average to expensive depending on if youre looking for a quick dish or a banquet, but its worth your time and money. Personally Ill be eating at this restaurant again and Id recommend it to anybody who asks.The decor is cosy and welcoming. There is a bar for alcoholic/soft drinks.

First visit to the Original Dil Raj and it was one of the best meals we have had for quite some time. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and the portion size was excellent. The staff were very friendly and polite and we left a very happy couple. We will be back.

Yum!! I wished I lived closer as we loved our dishes. Our waiter was very helpful and we enjoyed the whole experience. Good vegetation options too.

Excellent food however check your bills. Over charged me even if I was paying full price for everything and I bought with the 3 for 2 take out offer. Did correct it when I rung up and brought to attention. However is still beyond me how I was charged more than the full price in the beginning.

Great value and lovely staff

Firstly the order arrived 25 minutes late (1hr 40 in total). Secondly, the veggie samosas were actually meat which were ordered for a vegetarian. Extremely poor customer service.Other than above the rest of the order was nice if not slightly cold.

The Original DilRaj Tandoori Restaurant is a fantastic curry house located on Dodworth High Street. It has its own large private car park.The DilRaj offers a take away service as well as the restaurant.Food from the take away is always very good quality - highly recommended.

Ordered takeaway 27.06.20, order arrived cold & had to be microwaved 2 hours after order placed and several phone calls, so called MANAGER said he would make it worth our while next order, ordered today (30.06.20) food arrived 1hr 30 mins after, again cold and had to be warmed up, called & spoke to MANAGER to be told what do we want him to do to make it worth our while no discount offered & full price paid on both occasions, could even tell us how long it had been out on delivery, what our order was or what time it left, my best advice would be to order as soon as they open in order to receive food at reasonable time!!!!!!

The food was quite good although very overpriced.. As were the drinks.. £3.60 for a lime and soda water! The waiters were indifferent at best and rude at times, stood over me with pencil and pad and asked me twice if I was ready to order, still stood there when I said no, brought my food out and called it something different to what I had ordered, when I said it wasnt mine he changed his mind and said it was the right order... Said thats how much we charge and walked off when we questioned the bill..... Avoid!

This is the 3rd time ive been here in the last 6wks, and 3 times they have tried it on with the bill, using meerkats 2 for 1 on starters n mains, they took the code but didnt knock them off the bill,i wonder how many people they have done this to, cheeky gits.

Oh my God, this place is excellent. It came recommended by locals from a nearby place and we went there by public transport, which has a bus stop almost in front of the place. I cannot describe how good the food is and the people are very inviting and warm as well. A really cosey restaurant. The price is right to. Whish we had a place like this in the Netherlands. Go and visit, you will not be disappointed.

The food was okay, you could tell it was pre heated sauces and chicken added to itMiddle aged waiter was polite at the start and then it got worse by the end of the meal.I was in the area on business and had a table for one, I took one break because I ordered too much and the waiter came over and said have you finished. I was half way through my meal... and it clearly shown that with the amount on the table. Then got pestered 2-3 times with is everything okay with the meal but seriously got into eye line and close to my personal space.I’m sure there’s other decent curry houses in the area

Sadly this place was very average for me. Nice simple decor and generally, it was clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. It was the food that was decidedly average; standard fare found in so many Indian restaurants.

The best Indian in Barnsley.....long time staff make your meal better....they will cook whatever you want. Would highly recommend.

The food was very good indeed. The chicken chaat was excellent. Unfortunately, the service made us feel rushed and the place didnt feel very welcoming. One of the waiters was abrupt and unfriendly. The prices are definitely on the high side and it is not good value.

Food was very tasty however we was overcharged but didnt realise till we left, I only had a small bite of my main meal which I asked to take the left overs home upon opening I found I had little than a quarter of the meal I had left so was really charged for a meal I never had :( will not go again very disappointed!!!

The service was poor.staff took ages to serve you.also restaurant was freezing. We had to eat with our coats on.When we asked about a dish the waiter didnt know and never came back with an answer. Wont be going back.this used to be our favourite Indian.

Was rather didappointed by thisrestaurant as was told how good it was and had won awards. Food was well prepared but the menu far too extensive and made choice difficult, which isnt what we want. Pity, as felt quitelet down after the big build up from our friends. However, would go again as believe every restaurant deserves a second review in case it was just a bad day.

Worst Indian I have had in a long time. The curries consisted of puree like sauce with no texture. Very little flavour. Strange waiter kept bothering us with unfunny jokes.

My wife and myself have visited the DilRaj many times, last night was the worst, after being served with the wrong drink not once but twice we then sat waiting a good 20 minutes for our starter to arrive, we then were served a cold name bread and half of our main meal, by the time my boiled rice arrived my chicken was cold, for 50 pound not a good experience at all

Not the best food in the world and somewhat overpriced. The Indian restaurant round the corner is equally good and better value. Felt a bit rushed at the end of the evening as though they wanted us out.

Be very careful as they have ripped us off twice now with adding items to their bill, they scribble so you can’t tell what they have put, when I questioned it the guy got defensive and didn’t want to give me their receipt I demanded it and have it as proof for trading standards. They have a history of this and apparently are well known for this practice.

These guys are good at advertising making it appear they are the best when in reality it is probably one of the worst Indians in Barnsley.Definitely below average food.

Very busy restaurant and the service suffers because of it. Food is very good, with a good selection of chefs specials. They do take away too, hence why the restaurant is busy. Really annoying that the bill was presented to us without asking. Owners excuse was that they are busy and need the table.

Offer an offer then dont offer it on the day false advertising service rubbish and food rubbish definitely wont be returning

Upon arrival I stated that I would be using meerkat meals and the server(young girl) said Ill just go check with boss as they run loads of different offers. different server (a man) asked if we had booked in I said no sorry I didnt realise we had too. The guy sits us down went over and check with his boss came back over and said you normally have to book in but he said its fine this time but you have to order starters and mains to qualify. On the meerkat meals website it says nothing about having to order both but I let that sly as not a biggie. After are food (witch wasnt great) we asked for the bill witch was hand written and really bad writing and could hardly make it out but figured out they had only nocked off a main and not a starter as we bought 2 so it qualified for it with the offer we were using. I questioned this with the owner and he said they dont nock off both starters and mains they only nock off one of the main. I showed them the website witch states starters mains and deserts for up to 6 people he said yes but we dont do that. He said this is why you have to book in advance because I call you up and tell you that we dont offer the full discount. After going round and round in circles about the t&cs with the guy about how he has signed up to this offer and he isnt honoring it I said to my partner look just pay but we wont be coming back.Me and my partner had drove in separate cars as we met there. We spoke in the car park for around 5 mins and he drove off and I made my way to my car. So Im in the car park alone (Im a young female In a dark car park) I then here an oi and its the gent who sat us down in the 1st place holding bags of food (clearly the delivery driver) I said yes? He said quite aggressively, why did you tell my boss I didnt tell you about not getting discount off the starters? I said you didnt. He shouted yes I fuc**** did. I said wow look we have paid and Im going, he then told me to f*** off. On coming home I checked the online menu compared to what I had been carged and everything had a pound or 2 added too it! not to mention a pint of beer been £7! And a diet coke been £4.50!Iv never had such bad service in my life!

I have given one star but really its none as we never got to eat there. Rang to book a Meerkat meal for myself and a friend expecting to have 2 for 1 on the meals as in other restaurants. No !!!! To get a free main meal you had to order two starters at the full price so nothing gained there as my friend and i do not eat starters at an indian restaurant. No 2 for 1 on the deserts either, needless to say i did NOT book. I feel the Dil Raj is not honoring the spirit of the Meerkat offer and not really giving its customers a deal at all. I did contact them via their website but they did not seem at all interested in my complaint as when i stated what it was i got no further correspondence. Beware and check before you go if you want a 2 for 1 deal either Meerkat or Tastcard as we have both and found that some, a small number, of restaurants on their books do the same on both offers.Sue CarmanBarnsley

Had many dishes off the menu and all were superb, excellent food eaten in or taken out.

One main member of staff is incredibly rude and ignorant. How the main guy on the till is allowed to work there I will never know. Disgusting and unfriendly service and he shouldnt be allowed to face the public with that kind of attitude - this is the third occasion he has treat me and my family like this. He also decided today that he would shout at my father who ordered on justeat - if you dont want us to order on justeat then take yourselves off, ridiculous.
