Peru & Ecuador 20 day tripWould definitely not recommend using this company. Recently returned from the 20 day Peru & Ecuador trip in August 2021.Exoticca has absolutely no communication after booking (except to tell you when payment is due). Did not receive any details (other than what was on the website) regarding the trip until arriving in Lima. Flight info wasn’t received until less that 2 weeks prior to departure. My arrival flight was then inexplicably changed a week prior to departure to a hella horrible flight with an extremely long layover without explanation (original flight that was the shortest and best {and cheapest!} was still available according to google flights). There is no attention to detail with this company. You will see many 5 star reviews. In my opinion it’s because after booking, you are offered a nice travel voucher in exchange for leaving a review. How many of these reviews after the actual travel experience?? Not too many.Hotels were subpar for the most part. One was downright terrible, with mold in the bathroom, musty smell and spider webs! There were many long days with no regard for breaks/food. Arrived at several hotels after very long days with no options for food and left to figure it out (some of these hotels were rather remote as well).Single supplement travelers were given the worst rooms in our hotels despite very low occupancy at the majority of the hotels (no doubt due to the pandemic) and when asked about moving to a better room we were told ‘that would be an additional feeBe aware that Exoticca subcontracts tour operators. I will say that the tours with Condor travels in Peru were with excellent guides (per the guides, they are required to have a 5 year college degree in Peru and it shows, they have an excellent knowledge base). With guides and people managing the activities on the ground constantly changing there was no consistency. Did not feel like a personal experience.Tried many times to speak with someone at Exoticca via phone calls and emails prior to departure about details with no response. Pro tip: pretend you are going to make a new booking and someone answers right away…go figure! Too many misses to recommend. Will not use again.After posting this review on Exoticcas website a representative immediately posted a reply. If you can read a review and respond immediately, why cant a representative respond to a simple email or phone call when a confirmed booking client has questions? Not cool.Save you money and book elsewhere.

They are out right thievesThey are out right thieves! Hiding behind Covid. They did not have a 60 day notice last year when they were promoting no hassle no cancellation. We cant go to Africa because of the US mandate and now 30 days out they are keeping $4,000 of the $5,200. So much for no hassle. Avoid this company! They lie and are deceptive

Extremely Misleading Customer ServiceBefore our flight we tested positive for asymptomatic Covid-19 at 2AM. We immediately called customer service which is listed as a 24/7 phone number on Exoticca’s website. The answering machine said that their hours were from 9-5 EST. We called the airline right away and were told by the agent that the flight would be canceled. The agent also told us that since we called on time there would be no penalty to rebook the flight later; however, the agency we booked through would have to rebook since it was their booking.At 9AM we called Exoticca and were told by the agency that they would rebook the trip for minimal penalty fees. Over the next week we called repeatedly to follow up and were told by each agent that they were still checking; however, they reassured us that the penalty fees would be minimal each time.Over a week later we received an email stating that the rebooking fee would be 4600 CAD. We spoke to the sale agent and asked for a breakdown of the charges as 4600 CAD is not a minimal penalty fee. They told us it was the airline charging them and we reminded them that the airline specifically said that they would rebook for no penalty. The sales agent then changed his statement to say that it was from the land portion of our Peru trip. We asked him for a breakdown of each charge and he could not provide it. He told us to call customer service back. Customer service then told us to contact customer care. After days of no response and repeated follow up calls, customer care finally called to say they could not lower the penalty fee.We decided to open a dispute with PayPal. We received a call from the company on September 17, 2021 advising us that they could not work with us to resolve the rebooking solution unless we withdrew our dispute with PayPal. They wanted us to show proof that we had canceled our dispute with PayPal before they could provide us with a new quote for the rebooking fee. We then informed them that we would advise PayPal of this behavior, and they immediately retracted their statement about not being able to work with us about rebooking and said they would work on trying to get us a better rebooking quote and call us back on September 20, 2021.Exoticca finally called us back on September 22, 2021 after numerous tries on our end to contact them. The representative advised that they listened to the initial calls and admitted that their colleagues provided false information; however, they told us they were not able to reduce the costs despite having provided incorrect information. They offered a credit for a future trip, but we declined advising that we wanted the credit for the trip we already paid for.In addition to our specific situation as a whole: customer service is extremely hard to reach. Each call is a 30+ minute wait. If the call extends 30 minutes you are automatically disconnected from the queue. For our situation a phone call at 2AM was an emergency. If you cannot reach customer service during an emergency, this is a huge issue for a travel agency whose job is to provide peace of mind for their customers. We would have just booked on our own if we did not want the security blanket a travel agency is supposed to provide.To date our issue is still unresolved.

Travelled on a 17 night trip to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam in February 2020 and very disappointed with their lack of customer service. My group was left literally stranded due to a cancelled flight on our way home in Vietnam. It was very difficult to get a hold of anyone from head office and when we did, they offered little support. We had to purchase our own 1 way ticket home amounting to $900CAD each. Exoticca offered no compensation for this. In fact when Air Canada- the airline which cancelled my flight home issued refunds on all flights affected by COVID-19, I received nothing because I booked through Exoticca. It gets me angry even to this day to know they got my refund on my flight and I was left paying my own flight home at an extra cost I did not budget for. DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THIS AGENCY!!! The worst customer service ever, Ive reached out over email and calling to fight to get my refund/compensation without any clear explanation. They lure customers in with their discounted vacation packages but will leave you stranded with no support if flights get canceled.

Update 23.3.21 This company have now removed my credit voucher for the payment I made last April from my account but I still have had no refund. What are you playing at Exoticca?This company cancelled my trip to Russia June 2020 despite asking for balance in full in April. 2020. Almost £2,000 they hold and its now 15.3.21 and no sign of refund. My credit voucher runs out 31.3.21 so hopefully theyll repay me by then. I have explained I am a pensioner and need this, I just get standard response no matter what I say. Clearly I would never use this company again. Beware.The day after leaving this I got a call to say that my refund would be processed hmmm, small claims if not received by 31st March, counting the days to getting MY money back.

UPDATED on June 4:Well, thanks to Julie (Exottica rep who replied to the original message and I, frankly, originally thought was just a bot), I have finally received the refund for the second trip, with apologies and all. Appreciate that. Changing the 1 star rating to 2. Still, there were three+ months spent in disappointment, worry about not getting the money back, and hours and hours and hours of emails and phone calls to the company, as well one of the two trips reported to bank as fraudulent to receive a charge back. Had the review below expedited the process? Absolutely. Sadly, that seemed to be the only way to get through the message.-----(original review from April)Booked a trip last summer, then a second one for a later date, with the 60 day free cancellation policy. Had to cancel the first one due to high Covid numbers at the destination. Requested for the refund to go to the original payment method, i.e., my credit card, not any vouchers. What a joke.Right now, I have almost 9K tied with Exoticca, and have initiated fraud cases with my bank and reported them to various US federal and state customer protection and fraud departments (since theyre registered in the US). Luckily, should get the money back through the credit card company, but what a negative experience for the wonderful looking trips that my entire family was looking forward to. Unfortunately, will never book with them again, and do not recommend that anyone does.

We got left alone in Maroc at the begin of corona crisis. The worst was Exoticca did not even care uf us. No help at looking for flights back, no help looking for hotels to stay overnight. They wished us good luck and that is all. German gouvernment rescued us from Casablanca. Exoticca do not pay anything they should. The flights back we paid on our own, they even managed to not pay dinner at 2 hotels and even they promised they do so. It is such a bad feeling when you completly get ignored from customer service at the end of that all.I highly recommend to look for a more professional agency especially if you travel to exotic countries!

Terrible company to deal with. With all this virus going around we tried to cancel out trip. They said we will lose all of our $1500 deposit and tried to tell us the only way to keep our money was to book another trip to the same place at a future date. But would not give any options I had to pick a date in the future and they would see if it was available. I must have called twenty times with no call back. I finally spoke to Miguel which was about as good as not getting a call back. I am telling anyone who will listen to stay away from this company!!

They sent a letter with a travel voucher, claiming your original booking had to be cancelled due to the unprecedented COVID-19 virus crisis. Well, DUH! Exactly the crisis we had told them was the reason we wanted to cancel!Nowhere in their T&C did it say, we reserve the right to not honor customer cancellations, and will do Clause # 8 instead, (titled, cancellations by us.)So far, looking at reviews here and on Facebook, it appears that NO ONE has gotten any refunds of their money. Beware of this travel agency!They are unprofessional, unresponsive, and dishonest.

I travelled a lots, but last month was my first with exoticca. The tour was contracted out to condor which was great with responding to my inquiry during the trip.There were 2 missed communications between the 2 companies. I emailed both companies: condor was quick to respond, but not much they can do without confirmation from exoticca despite repeated requests.Still trying to get refund for my overcharges. Wish me luck.

This agency published a job advertisment for a Customer service/travel agent for U.S. market in August. When applying, candidates were given a couple of rather complicated tasks to solve and it was said they would be notified about the results after the job application time expires. That time was 1 month. ONE month!It was also said that experts would review the answers given in this specific task, grade it accordingly and choose the best candidate.All of this needed to be done through the Fluttr application, so it required previous registration as well.At least ten people applied and needless to say, they took it very seriously and dedicated their valuable time to go through the tasks and solve them, answer all the questions and give their best. I was one of these people as well.I NEVER received any notification or news whatsoever! Now its December, this job offer is long gone and closed, I also realized a long time ago that I wouldnt be getting any reviews from any experts, let alone a job!So is this how this agency treats people? Is this how you respect and value peoples time? Would you treat your customers the same way as you treat your potential employees?A simple candidate rejection letter/email would be enough. But I guess its too much to ask from you.Your false promises about experts who are going to review the task and choose the best candidates were nothing but a pie in the sky, but you could at least have the decency to alert all those poor people who were naive and stupid enough to invest their time, knowledge and effort to go through the whole process and solve your tasks.You are a terrible employer with a terrible human approach and I hope you once will get the taste of your own medicine to see what kind of a fraud you are.Merry Christmas.

Cities, Falls & Beaches of South America - Argentina & BrazilMy partner and I booked the above trip to try Exoticca before our honeymoon next year. We were pleased with the service provided by De la Plaz Tur in Argentina. However, disappointed with Condor Travel Brasil. Both companies are sub-contracted by Exoticca.The organisation for the Argentinian part was excellent, being provided with an itinerary and hotel details from the sub-contracted tour operator before departure, and upon arrival. The half-day tour of Buenos Aires provided was excellent, the guide spoke very good English and ticked off the major sites. The only improvement to this aspect would be flying onto Rio following the short tour at Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian side (Day 6). This could be achieved by guests taking their luggage on the visit, then being dropped at the airport on the Brazilian side. Day 7 is ultimately wasted with travelling to Rio, where we didn’t reach our hotel until late in the evening.The Brazilian aspect of the tour was where the disappointment set in. Firstly, we received no contact from the Brazilian Tour operator, hoping someone would be waiting for us at the airport. Luckily there was. While Exoticca states “Expected or similar hotels” the South American Copacabana Hotel provided fell short of what was expected. While the location is excellent, the hotel is now dated and tired looking, not the 4 stars the hotel suggests. This is a discussion point on TripAdvisor. Meanwhile, the Best Western Plus Copacabana Design Hotel (the expected hotel) has consistently better reviews.The tour offered to Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer consisted of the tour operator being significantly late. A long drive around the city, a stop at the rather dull Maracana Stadium (where you have to pay extra to go inside), eventually reaching the Tram station for the Corcovado mountain some 2.5 hours after collection. Overall, it wasn’t the day of discovery as suggested, just a pointlessly long drive around the city. We would have preferred having the tickets booked and making our own way there.The transfer to Buzios was delivered by Marinjo Tusismo Buzios. We were collected in the early morning, with a trip to Galeão Airport to collect other customers, before continuing our journey. We were treated to a rather enthusiastic rant from a lady (the guide) for 45 minutes who didn’t to speak any English, and failed to provide any information for us. The guide was rude and dismissive when we asked for any information in English.The highlight of the Brazilian part of the trip organised by Exoticca was the stay at Pousada Pontal Ferradura. An excellent hotel, located a short 10 minute walk from the town centre but located near the Ferradura beach. The “exciting Schooner Tour” to surf the ocean in Buzios was actually on a rather tired tourist boat (Babylon 1), again none of the guides spoke English.Overall we were impressed with the Argentinian aspect of the tour, but disappointed with the hotel in Rio and general organisation of the Brazilian aspect. It is unlikely we will use Exoticca for our honeymoon, but would highly recommend De la Plaz Tur in Argentina.

Because of Covid our trip to Japan in August 2020 was in danger, but in order not to lose our rights we ended up paying for everything. We played it. Eventually the Japanese Government closed borders and Exoticca had no choice but to cancel the trip. They told me it would take a while to get my money back and indeed it was (more than they were telling me). I confess that I got nervous and asked for the action of a lawyer. Anyway, they gave it all back to me. I understand the difficult situation of that moment and I saw a desire to get along with me, even in the deal. I regret having been a little too expeditious with them (I guess they should understand me too) and so if they want me there, I give them a vote of confidence and re-hire the trip now that it looks like things they normalize a bit and they further extend their warranties.

Very bad service, we have a contracted plan for the Arab Emirates and Maldives that leaves on September 8, we pay 50% and we have been calling to give the other payment, and they do not answer the emails, and the trip is almost over and they do not give us an answer , this is incredible.

Once the trip was paid, the date changes of the flights began, leaving us stranded both on the way out and on the return 1 night without a hotel, and when you call them to find a solution they tell you that they have no problem. They put dates and times of flights, you pay for the trip, they change it at will and they leave you stranded, of course we cancel the trip with them and so they can return the money to court. Imagine a problem in the middle of the trip ....... NOT RECOMMENDEDIn response to your answer in which they try to look good saying that they will call to give a solution, I want to record that after several calls and emails they have not received any solution, so a burofax was sent with the same result.I have had to initiate an order to claim the money.

I have been waiting since March for them to give me 80 euros back from an excursion that they sell separately and taking another excursion that they offer at the same time you see the first. While all foreign customers had only paid for one, we paid for two. I claimed it and they told me they would give it back ... and Im still here 7 months after writing 200 times they keep giving me long. The trip was winter in fjords. With the snowshoe excursion you also see the viewpoint. So dont sell it separately. And then they leave you practically every day alone ... free time is fine but not so much ... I do not recommend it.

One star is still too many. Have been doing round trips for years, but Ive never seen anything like this travel agency. Inflexible from the start, although they wanted to pay the difference for another airport that was offered overnight on the website.Cancellation due to the Corona Virus 1 week before departure in May 2020. In September 2020 the 30% deposit was still not refunded.There is no response to letters, emails or phone calls.Then you see each other again in court!You could have had it cheaper by simply transferring my money to me.

EYE!! With Exóticca ... I booked a travel package for Easter. Later the flights are changed so that I cannot make the trip. I request the cancellation by not accepting the new flights ...As of today they still have not returned me after many unsolvable emails and calls. All this before the new regulations for COVID-19. It is shameful how a travel agency is totally disinterested in its client. They do not return the money, they continually make excuses for you and on top of that, you have to be behind them to get them to answer your emails. I have tried, dealing directly with them and with a lot of patience, to get my money back but since they dont, I will have to resort to consumption and to the occupation since I am paid. Therefore, after this, I will not book anything with Exoticca again, since in these moments, it is when they have to demonstrate their professionalism and not when everything is rosy.ON DECEMBER 18 DATE I CONFIRM THAT I HAVE RECEIVED THE REFUND. Safari Kenya 10 days, September.This is the first time we travel with the Exotic company. Our experience has exceeded expectations. Very good allogements. The local company that has contracted Kenia Sawa-Sawa in Africa has very good professionals. Reduced and well coordinated groups. The first two parks Amboseli and Aberdare, we were a group of 5 people plus the driver and Josef our guide with a good level of Spanish, cultural and with a desire to enjoy the trip. The following parks Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara the group of 4 people plus guide-driver Eduard also fantastic.What we also recommend is to make the safari with balloon (optional) in the first hour coinciding with the sunrise. Includes 1h. A more savvy flight to the savannah of good quality with Champan on demand. The price is high but worth the sight, the animals that are seen and the photographs taken.We also commented that we had a problem with the return flight not to coincide with the program we had stipulated and they changed it to us without any problem.By the way we saw and photographed The 5 great a wonder.

We hired the honeymoon in February 2020 since we were getting married in July 2020. As expected, the airlines canceled and from exotics they told us that the trip was canceled. They offered us a voucher with the money but we HAVE NOT ACCEPTED THE VOUCHER and they told us that the airlines had not refunded the money. We filed a claim in customer service and they returned a percentage of what we had paid (very fast and without excuses, not as before). We have waited a few months to claim what is left and after 2 emails NO ONE responds to us. We will return to file another claim. Its sad, but thats how they have shown their LOW PROFESSIONALISM.

The valuation is linked to the quality and price ratio. In that sense the balance of my trip to Turkey is positive. The hotels generally good, both as regards the rooms and the food they gave. However other things I think not so well: Too many stops with too much time in places where the only thing that justified it were the possible purchases that many did not want or request to make.I totally advise against an optional traditional dance activity. The show and the assembly that at no time justified the price paid were quite deficient.

Nothing recommended, after the treatment received.We booked a trip for the end of May 2020 that due to COVID19 could not be done.He already alerted us that in a state of alarm, at the end of March and knowing that the trip was not going to be made, they demanded the second payment, warning us that if it was not made, we would lose the money paid so far. The worst experience Ive ever had. They sell you hotels in the center of Beijing and then once youve paid for tea they change for a hotel 35 km from everything. I have traveled twice with Exóticca.The first in North India, Rajasthan and Varanasi, 14 days. In April of last year 2018.I went with my daughter and we returned delighted from the trip. The accommodations were all of quality, in adapted historical buildings without losing charm or comfort. With particularly comfortable beds, detail that I appreciate in a very special way, I am already 81 years old. The itineraries fully completed and well selected. The spacious and comfortable pools. And the competent accompanying guide, very polite, affable, very well prepared. And the driver very good and nice,With all these conditions the atmosphere of the group was very good, good humor accompanied us throughout the trip. A large group we keep in touch on Facebook.The second trip was in May-June of this year, 2019, also of 14 days, to Nepal. Accommodation conditions similar to those of the trip to India, perhaps not so spectacular but comfortable and well located in Kathmandu and Pokara. In the P.N. of Chitwan according to the place in the middle of nature.This trip was in a group and has had an exceptional condition: I traveled with a friend and from the airport we received a guide with a car with a driver. He explained that the Nepal agency had decided that we would take the tour as private without additional cost. The guide a professional at all times, good driver and vehicle. Good luck in every way. I travel frequently and it is the first time that they surprise me with something like that. This means that Exóticca works with good agencies.Now I am hiring another trip with Exóticca to Sry Lanka. Upon our arrival in Vilnius, they did not come to pick us up at the airport and at 00:30 and we had to take a taxi to the hotel, that if exotic after contacting them they solved the situation by resending us the amount of the taxi.The guide was great and the restaurants too.Of the hotels, it should be noted that Vilnius did not reach the three stars but that of Riga and Tallinn complied perfectly.A quiet journey

Circuit veryto Dubai and Maldives, the 2 hotels very well.A desert excursion in Dubai included.Flights with the Emirates company, which is honestly the best one I have flown with.The only fault that you have to leave the hotel room in Dubai in the morning and it doesnt fly until dawn, although in the hotel they were very nice and made it easier for us to take a shower.
