Barbil is a City and a Municipality in  Kendujhar district, in the state of Odisha, India. It is also known as the Iron city as the region has one of the largest deposits of Iron and manganese ore in the country . Apart from this, the place is surrounded by breathtaking waterfalls n dense jungles with trees of various species, displaying the beauty of Mother Nature.Located in this area, about 6 Km from Barbil, is the Jateswar Mahadev Mandir , a place worth visiting . It is a Shiva temple, where the Shiva lingam is located next to a waterfall in the lap of mother nature, surrounded by hills from all the sides.There is a continuous stream of water falling over it n so it has been left uncovered....in the open . This characteristic, makes it different from other Shiv temples where the Shiva Lingams are inside the temple . This spot is located one and a half km from a small village called Baltia gram . The interesting story of this temple takes us back by 60 years .. According To Mr Chandra Mohan Nayak the first worshipper , Lord Shiva appeared in his dreams n narrated the location of this beautiful place to him . Today his son Mahendra Nayak is taking care of the holy temple with utmost devotion.

THIS IS TYPICAL OF INDIAN TEMPLES LIKE A BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL JUNGLE WITH THICK TREES AND BUSHES A ROUNDABOUT FOR HOLIDAY MAKERS THIN STREAMS OF WATER BODYS FLOWING BY THE APPROACHING ROADS MEETING WITH EACH OTHER IN ONE PLACE GREAT LOCATION FOR HANGING OUT IN ALL SEASONS SPECIALLY IN WEEKEND AND WEEKDAYS BREAKS I HOPED HOLY FOOD FROM THIS GREAT PLACE BUT NOBODY OFFERED ME BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME
