Amazing place to visit. The rock creatures are mind-blowing and spectacular. The hike to the top is not difficult and one can climb very easily. The view from the top of the fort is breathtaking where you can get fresh wind blows.If you are planning to visit this fort simply don’t miss the sunset.

This is again another place where you reach at the top and spend quality time just with your own self. Be aware of monkies and if you are going solo please make sure you dont have any costly items with you.The places are really awesome for clicking photos and you will never feel like getting back from there. Make sure you visit this place at the last. Spend some quality time. Come back and sit in the near by lake and get lost in natures beauty.I completely loved this entire landscape.

The opposite side of the caves. Very well maintained stairs and paths up to the top through impressive roundwashed rocks and narrow gorges. Temples are as stunning as the view over Badami. The fort itself is only 300 years old but totally wrecked. Still worth going as you can see the fragments of peoples living spaces.

Located on top of the huge Rocky Hill. Amazing view of badami from top. Its a huge plateau area containing Shiva temple, way through rocks and small fort. Must visit if you are in badami. The way to reach on top is bit tricky. You have to go around the hill, actually from behind the hill and there is a small temple behind from where there are few steps which takes you to the top. Unfortunately entry is prohibited after 6pm. So you cant see sunset from there.

It is situated in the premises of archaeological museum around the Agastya lake. The view of the badami town is really beautiful and mesmerizing from the top. Badami Fort is located in Badami, Karnataka. Its in campus of Archeological museum. But entrance is different for Badami Fort. There is no entry fee. You need to climb some stairs to reach on the top. View is so amazing from the top. Its located on the top of the hill. Badami cave and Bhoothnath temple is visible from this fort. Its approximately 2 kms from Badami bus stop. You can get a sharing auto and auto will drop you at Ambedkar circle. From there you can also cover Badami cave. Fort was made around 543 AD. It was built by Chalukyan King Pulakeshi. It opens all the days from 9am till 5pm.

Our pride ancient history, Badami Fort, is worth visiting

Its a very big fort. In ancient time people use to live in this fort it seems. Nothing is insider except few temple, lot of kannada inscriptions and some monkeys.

Badami Fort was a great placeThe number of visitors over there were less which allowed me to take pictures without anyones disturbance. It had a lot of places where I could take great pictures and I could also see the sunset. It has a lot of big rocks and boulders. It was a quiet and a peaceful place. Getting on too the top of the fort was not a tough job as it had stairs which were still in good condition. I was completely in love of the landscape there. Visitors there are asked to leave the place after a few minutes of sunset. I feel that there should have been a guide to tell people about the places we could see on the fort. I personally left a lot of spots uncovered.

Except few intact stone watch towers and flag hoisting part, nothing much left from architecture perspective and water flow systems.Views of badami town below are good from the fort points.

Malagati Shiva temple is attached to Badami fort. It was built by the Chalukyas in 6th century. The Chalukyas followed Shaivism but were liberal with Vaishnavism and Jainism. ...The temple has a simple Chalukyan architecture with sculptures on all its side. The temple is located on top of a small hillock with a beautiful garden. It is one of the best places in Badami to spend some spiritual time at sunset.

Beautiful architecture of 8th century. All the statues are mythological and have relevance to shaivas and Vaishnavas. Very fine detailing of architecture using the sandstone. Over 200 steps to climb, with 4 caves inside the rock. Must go if you are going to Hampi
