Food and ambiance was great. After writing an initial review , the owner personally emailed me. She was sincerely apologetic regarding some service issues we encountered. I have been to Oseyo multiple times in the past and have had excellent experiences and service in the past. I trust management will address the issues I brought up and I have changed this review to reflect this. I look forward to returning in the future.
Good Korean food.Excellent vibe and bar.Really cool outside patioLoved• Great bartender - superb cocktails• Jjin Mandu - steamed dumplings• Bulgogi• Kimchi fried rice - ask for egg on the side. Fully fried. No zucchini. No seaweedLiked• Korean fried chicken **• Scallion pancake - skip seafood **• Sides were great• Kalbi ***• Soondooboo Jigae *** slightly seafoody but not over the top seafoody - ask to skip the egg
Ambiance is pretty decent; however, food falls flat hard. Korean food is not authentic here: marinades is mostly neglected on the grilled meat items (galbi, chicken). I was expecting much greater flavor and quality from the obscenely high price point they have on all their food items.Avoid at all costs if youre looking for authentic Korean food, both in terms of taste and price.
Very good quality ingredients. The flavor man the flavor makes u want to go back and try every dish. Great wait staff asks about food allergies. I thank yall for that for my wife is allergic to pork. Looking forward to getting back.
Delicious! Beautiful, trendy spot with a great outdoor patio. Cocktails were phenomenal and we loved all the dishes we got - pretty large portions, as well! Ive heard some say that its not authentic Korean - we love Korean food but werent looking for everything to be exact - come here with an open mind (and empty tummy) and youll have a good time!
5-star food, wait staff, and atmosphere. Knocked off 3 stars because the host disrespected our date night by unexpectedly ending it.The host booted my wife and I from our table, and re-seated us to lounge chairs just after we ordered dessert, because another reservation was to be seated at our table. We loved the place, and we would have been more understanding if the forced move came with advance notice or with reasonable cause, but there were plenty of other open tables. There was no apology, no advance notice to vacate after 1.5 hours of dining, and no compensation for the dessert that we could no longer enjoy. To top it off, the bill came with errors which, according to the wait staff, said was caused by confusion around this musical chair fiasco. We left with a sour taste in our mouth. Recommend avoiding weekend date night here, even with a reservation.
Absolutely fantastic! Everything from drinks to food to service was beyond expectations. Will be a regular.
Let me just start this review that I am 100% Korean. I was born & raised in Seoul, which is the capital and mega-city of South Korea until I was almost 10. I have also lived in USA for almost 20 years and being able to understand those two worlds, I would believe that I am pretty qualified to give somewhat of an objective review of this restaurant. My grandparents also have owned multiple restaurants, my mom was a professional chef, I was also previously a restaurant manager for an establishment that had multi-million dollars of sales per year.Straight off the bat, I do have to say that the service was top notch, and atmosphere were modern, cozy and a lot of details in it for sure. I would give 10/5 stars for that. Great parking space in the back, great outdoor area, inside area (like a room) and also middle area with the bar. Workers were knowledgeable trying to speak Korean to me, which is cute and great. Lol.Seriously though, the service was better than some super ostentatious restaurants where a steak cost $100-$200 and servers are all wearing suits. However, I do have to be honest with myself that just the food itself is not authentic Korean at all. I understand that the food does have to cater to Americanized population as Austin does not have huge Korean population. I completely understand that. What I do not want is someone coming here and thinking this is how all Koreans eat or how Korean food is because it is not.For example, Koreans do not need an extra dish when starting a meal. They handed me one and I was like, “What the hell is this, not even going to use it.”In addition, drinks & wine menu. I didn’t understand why this restaurant has wine or other Americanized drinks. They do not even go with Korean food.Third, the ddek bok ki tasted like it was just dipped in some red pepper paste with water. The sauce is supposed to be way thicker than that. It had to be way spicier and not sweet. It almost tasted like candy. The rice cake itself was over cooked, it has to be fluffy, but not over-cooked.Jja jang myen tasted blend. The noodles and the sauce seemed like it was cooked together, which they should not be. The sauce is supposed to be placed on top later so reserve the freshness and so that the noodles do not over-cook. The food itself is not supposed to be boiling hot like that...it’s not a soup...Overall, I would drop by and stay outside to grab a drink and maybe get an appetizer like pa jeon and the service, but that’s it...I definitely played myself thinking that this is going to be some real authentic Korean food. I should have went to H-Mart Food court or Jan-Chi restaurant where they actually serve Korea food.
Soooo good! It was our first time here and we were not disappointed. A great mixture of korean american bbq with a twist. We got the Ddukbokki (great flavors with a fun mochi texture), Jjin Mandu (amazing flavor with some heat) Bulgogi (melt in your mouth texture with great side additions for build your own lettuce wraps) & Jjajangmyeon (great noodle texture with thick bean sauce) that we split between the 2 of us. Its a fun way to try multiple things and was VERY filling. We couldnt pick a favorite dish because we loved them all! We were already talking about what we would order next time we were there before we left.We also ordered the Korea Town (really nice smoke and smooth flavor) and Mango Jang (amazing korean marg) cocktails, as well as a glass of wine and sake. Something for everyone with beer and a full bar!Would highly recommend. Cant wait to go back!
I’m pretty impressed. We came here for a birthday dinner and the experience was fantastic. I wasn’t sure what to expect and my wife who typically doesn’t eat Korean food due to dietary restrictions (vegetarian) was able to get a nice quality meal. The flavors are outstanding and I love the vibes inside. It’s a bit on the pricey side but I’d come back again, the ingredients are high quality. If you’re going to Oseyo you know what you’re paying for, I’m sure there are other more traditional Korean places that can cook a good bibimbap and bulgogi.
After driving into Austin from the Dallas area we stopped in for a late lunch. They had ample parking and we were able to get a table outside for two with no reservations. My wife and I each ordered a cocktail and both were very refreshing on the warm afternoon. We ordered 2 small plates with the Tong Dak being our favorite with tender chicken fried chicken in a well balanced sweet/ spicy sauce. The entrees were Kimchi Bokkeumbap and the Korean short ribs and they did not disappoint. The ribs came with white rice, several different condiments and sauces, and lettuce leaf to place the ribs in. We couldnt finish the dishes as they were good portions as well as being delicious. The only bad thing for us was the flys which were constantly landing on the table and food.
An absolute MUST HAVE. Definitely in my top 3 favorite restaurants in Austin. Try the ddukbokki to start & then the Bulgogi Wood Grill- you will not regret it! Also they are very accommodating/gluten free friendly for those with dietary restrictions. The staff are all amazing and so gracious, I enjoy each visit even more than the last.
Had reservations here for dinner, we got there early and they had given our table away. We had to stand firm and speak to a manager to get them to give our table back. Sounded like our table was given to an employees personal party.Once seated everything was amazing. Great food, amazing cocktails. If not for the strangeness at the front door I would have given 5 stars.
The dumplings (both steamed and fried) were excellent, the bulgogi was perfect, and the rice noodles were superb. The bartenders clearly enjoy what theyre doing and it shows. The service was friendly and not overbearing. It was an all around great experience.
The restaurant is very cool with good music. The hostess was very nice. The bar made a good rye old-fashioned and the food was good. Unfortunately, the whole experience was soured by our server who was pretty rude. He was aloof and unfriendly and barely made an effort to be polite. At the end, he just dropped the check off on the table without a word and walked away. It’s unfortunate because it’s a very good restaurant otherwise but we won’t be back and won’t be recommending this place to any of our friends.
If you’re looking for a place with cocktails and a vibe, this is it. Cocktails here are fantastic. The interior feels like an art gallery. The staff are friendly. The place is cool!If you’re looking for the best Korean food, know that while you’ll get good food here, you can get more food, better, and cheaper at the less swanky Korean restaurants in North Austin.
Perfect for family style with a small group of friends so you can try it all, or a cozy medium-casual date night! The winning dish of the night was easily the Japchae, but there wasnt a bad dish on the table. Sake is affordable and delicious as well.Vegetarian options are fairly limited, but a few all-star dishes mean I could eat here weekly without getting bored.
Weve had this place on our list for awhile, we went last night for dinner and they did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and dishes. The food itself was delicious, flavors were great and portions were generous. Great wine & sake list, and the cocktails were incredible - Seoul of Oaxaca was delicious! FYI we went hungry and still left with a to-go bag - we tried the Jjin Mandu (watch out for the spicy chili oil), Oseyo KFC Meal (the potato salad was one of the best Ive had ever), Bulgogi, Jajangmyeon and Bossam (very generous portion for a Small Plate but my favorite).
I came here on a weekend with a group of friends and honesty was disappointed. The decor and lighting in the restaurant is nice and welcoming, while the menu is simple. The scallion pancake was flavorful and definitely recommend getting, but the food itself took significantly longer than acceptable. I was expecting the complementary side dishes to come before our meal, but they came at the same time as the food. The bibimbap came out cold and the wait was not worth the cold meal.
An absolutely phenomenal experience! Such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The cocktails were fabulous and creative. The food was fresh, filling, and full of flavor. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you choose from the menu. We were so impressed and can’t wait to go back very soon!
Great variety and preparation both times I have gone.
Stay away if you love korean food. service was lovely; ambience and presentation was decent. but for me flavor is the most important element of a meal and this was NOT it. moving beyond the underwhelming blandness of our whole meal, the bibimbap was cold, and my short ribs were also cold even though they were on a hot plate. probably one of the least favorite (and most expensive) korean meals Ive ever had.it might be good for novices, as I heard a waitress explaining the names of the foods and how to eat them to a group, but if youre looking for/craving a steaming hot, fresh, flavorful, spicy korean meal or bbq experience go elsewhere.
Everything about Oseyo is fantastic - from the food to the space. Its one of the few Korean restaurants Ive found that caters to American palettes without focusing on KBBQ. Everything on their menu tastes fresh and I dont feel lethargic after eating a meal; particular favorites are japchae, budae jiggae and bibimbap.
Beautiful restaurant, fantastic menu and great customer service. Also their kitchen is completely nut free!
As a Korean person, I would not call this Korean food. We ordered the galbi, dak ggui, and mackeral. Galbi and dakggui had no flavor at all. It almost taste as if they just grilled the ribs without marinate. And, also why would you need three ssamjang and sesame oil for all of the dishes? It didn’t make any sense. Koreans do not eat ssam with all these dishes. Also.. we sat outdoor because they had no seats available indoor even after we made our reservation. Outdoor was not pleasant at all. We had 20 or more flies just sitting on our food and flying around it. It was disgusting. Also, their pricing is horrendous. It’s 20 dollars or more for each dish that’s not even tasty. I’m super disappointed and do NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone especially if you are looking for good Korean food. Our money is wasted.
Great food, love the atmosphere, and amazing service. Kalbi ribs were amazing
Korean food done poorly. Id been so excited to try Oseyo but dining here was underwhelming. From a taste standpoint, I honestly believe the food was not very good and lacked flavor. We order the Dolsot Bibimbap (rice hot stone) and the Kimchi Jigae (soup). Neither was impressive.Probably better to go to a mom-and-pop shop for GOOD Korean food. But I guess come to Oseyo if youre looking for a classy ambiance. The service was good though!
Impressive space and wonderful staff. High quality Korean dishes all around, the kalbi was excellent as were many other cuisine staples. Its as authentic as you can find outside an urban K-town with a touch of dapper flare, I plan to go back.
I am a bit disappointed at their food. Some dishes are very off tastes. Dolbokki should not be sour. And bibimbop needs more sesames oil. And Koreans don’t usually add kimchi to bibimbop unless it is yeolmoo kimchi. 🤔 the Fried dumpling was over priced. The pajeon the pancake was just a dough. Usually Jeon dishes are with veggies in it. I hope they do better job on their food. The atmosphere was great though. They did good job on interior and such.
The wood-fired mackeral was awesome! But we dug into that and our Ddukbokki so fast, my only picture is near the end. The Ddukbokki was much better than I thought it would be...the flavors were strong and dead-on. The Soju was really a cut above what I buy at Specs too...so clean. Really, this is not Korean food relative to some of my faves like Charm and Jan Chi...its elevated to a point of being its own thing. The sides were good and the lettuce wrap slant was amusing--well be back to try more on the menu and to get some better pics. They have some kewl ice creams and korean pastry not on the menu for dessert, too. Staff greeted us very nicely and were quite accomodating seating us at the bar with no reservations. Our bartenders killed it with some great advice and drinks too--the Reserve Soju (not pictured) was a great way to end things for me. And theyre going to have like a street market setup coming soon to their outdoor area--wow! 5 stars.
Perfect in every way. Fabulous service, beautiful space, amazing price, and the food was perfect.
I went here with a friend because I had heard great things. It did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and all the bartenders were super helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about the menu. The GM stopped by after we received our food to explain how to pair the sides with the dishes, which was extremely helpful considering all the different options. I will be back.
First let me say, the food was incredible. Every single thing we ordered was amazing, and as meat eaters dining with a pescatarian, we pretty much forgot that we ordered a vegetable dinner. I deducted a star because it had been raining all day and night, and never having dined there before we had no idea that our courtyard reservation was under jeopardy (and had a friend visiting from out of town so we had struggled to find anywhere really great to show her on a Friday night). They called us 30 min before our reservation to tell us they couldn’t seat us because of the rain, unless we wanted to wait until 9:30pm to dine indoors. Since it was pouring and we had nowhere else to go, we had to wait. We asked if there was a bar area for us to at least get drinks beforehand and got a very confusing “yes”. We showed up early to grab a drink but they had nowhere for us to sit for that either. Luckily they were able to seat us early, but the customer service experience could have been better. 5 stars for food! Would definitely return just for that.
Overpriced, inauthentic, and unenjoyable. I enjoyed my first trip to oseyo for brunch - the food was pretty delicious. I decided to invite a group of friends for another visit and it was more than disappointing. My dumplings were hard, cold and not what I remember at all. The ahi tostadas had absolutely no flavor to them. The black bean noodles were more like a salty briney soup with some noodles strung about. The cocktails were great but that was just about the only thing I enjoyed. Our friends had the pork belly wraps which were also cold and lacked flavor. All in all it was an incredibly unsatisfying meal and for $700 for 8 people I’m incredibly disappointed and don’t know that any of us will ever be back.
As a fellow Korean, I can honestly say this is a terrible example of Korean food. This food is tremendously over priced and they cannot even make the staple kimchi stew (kimchi Jjigae). It tasted like a buttery tomato based soup. They charged me $9 for a small double shot worth of soju. When I ordered soju, I expected the whole bottle, not a drinking glass which looked almost empty (picture is included). Their menu is very limited and they were out of Hite beer and they didnt have Galbi.I will definitely discourage all my friends not to go here because it is an awful example of amazing Korean food!
Very limited menu but everything is delicious
Delicious dishes in a cool East Austin space. Kimchi was excellent!
Friday was my first time visiting this restaurant and it was an incredible experience! The food was amazing, staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the design/aesthetic was superb. The restaurant had appropriate precautions for COVID and you sanitizer your hands upon arrival. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to come back!
We order the Kalbi and Beoseot and both orders were not representative of the description on the menu. The Kalbi was 75% bone and fat without Much meat. The beoseot was 90% button mushrooms without any other types of mushroom! This is false advertising! Avoid.
Unique bar drinks and excellent Korean homestyle food.
East Austin Korean food. As Korean food goes, limited menu of home style foods. Music was a bit loud at our table, but we were situated under the speakers. Also reggae music was all that was playing. Contemporary decor mixed with Asian flair. Service was good, but somerimes you had to look for a server, and it wasnt busy. Food is okay but forgettable with available options.
Fantastic! Everything was so good and the space is beautiful.
Great atmosphere, good portion size, and delicious food. Highly recommend.
Great food and wonderful service.
The atmosphere of this place was very nice but that is really the only nice thing. The food was subpar and didn’t even taste like Korean food. We ordered several dishes and we had to force ourselves to eat them simply because we paid so much for it. You barely get anything for the price which would be fine if at least the flavor was there, but everything was a watered down or a weird version of what it was supposed to be. The waitress was nice, but wasn’t there often and we ended up waiting around a long time after we were finished just waiting for her to reappear so we could get the check. Honestly I wished we would have saved our money and got McDonald’s instead, we would have enjoyed it more.
Great place! The bibimbap was delicious
Yummm! Delicious, creative Korean dishes. Great soju/sochu cocktails and sake.
Combination of flavors astounds, not to be missed Sunday Brunch!
Decor and vibe is really cute and their cocktails are top notch, especially the matcha one. The menu looks authentic but the food was disappointing. The first time I went we ordered the fried chicken appetizer, jjajangmyeon, and bulgogi. The fried chicken was good, very crispy coating, and nice sweet and sour sauce. But the other two dishes missed the point. Jjajangmyeon does not taste authentic, celery was in there, and was too salty, while the Bulgogi was very dry upon arrival. I gave jjajangmyeon another try by ordering it to go and they packaged the noodles already mixed with sauce. Typically I would like the sauce and noodles separate so the noodles wont go soggy. This feels more like a fusion rather than an authentic Korean food, which I might have missed it somewhere.
The flavor profiles of the food werent quite up to par compared to a lot of the more traditional korean restaurants up north. The mackerel is tasty but everything else is just slightly off from what I would expect. The jjajangmyeon was overly sweet. The kimchi tasted almost vinegary(I like sour fermented kimchi but this tasted specifically like vinegar? Could be wrong but that was my experience). Bulgogi tasted almost cinnamony. While I appreciate experimentation in most cases, these dishes missed the mark for me personally. However, I wouldnt say that any of these choices made the food bad, but if youre expecting the specific flavor profiles of authentic korean food you may be disappointed.
Was a bit underwhelmed with my meal. Japchae was oily and lacked flavor, dumplings were also bland. Mackerel was not bad but also not crazy good. Overall nothing really impressed me there.
I ordered Bokkeumbap, Jajangmyeon, and Kimchi Jigae for takeout, and was disappointed to discover that neither of the first two dishes had the pork belly and diced pork, respectively, that was noted in the menu. If I had been eating in person, I would’ve sent both of the first two dishes back to the kitchen. The Kimchi Jigae was quite good though, although a huge contrast with the lack of meat in the other two dishes. Was also disappointed during the online ordering process that there was a “service charge” that showed up as a default tip after ordering, with a second tip section. I’ve been trying to support restaurants during COVID, but feel taken advantage of by providing an unwitting double tip for food that wasn’t what was promised. On the bright side, I guess the packaging is cute and relatively sustainable. Won’t be ordering here again
You have to be Asian to be familiar with the place. In the name of covid, they had an entree to be shared with the rest of the people on the table. Talking about double deeping??? They should find a better way to serve group of people, while being aware of the pandemic. People should not be sharing desert. I had to pass because I wanted to be careful.
Delicious food, tasty drinks, great design/setup.
Very good. Must go again!!!
Staff was great, courses came out in perfect timing. Small plates were dicious and the bulgogi was more than enough food for 2. Will be back.
Went to Oseyo for my birthday dinner last night and it was such a letdown 😔 Our waitress asked if we had dietary restrictions and I told her we were vegan. The menu has things that are clearly labeled vegan but she mentioned that some of the sauces and toppings still had to be changed to make it completely vegan. So basically vegan doesnt actually mean vegan there 🤷♀️ she said the sauce that the dumplings (that were labeled vegan) come with had fish something in it and that she would just bring us soy sauce with it instead. When it came out and I tried the sauce, it was not soy sauce. When my entree that the waitress assured me would be vegan came out, it had kimchi on it but I had to point out to her that on the menu it said kimchi should be taken off to make it vegan. The food that came out correct was ok but definitely not worth the $. Im definitely regretting not just sticking with a tried and true vegan business... thought it would be fun to try something different especially since there were vegan labeled items but nope never again. 😫
The atmosphere and service is great but the food not so much. The food was not to my expectations as it didnt taste authentic. The soup tasted like soap. Will come back to try other dishes but highly disappointed with our first visit.
Oseyo has been on my list of places to try for a while now and finally visited last night. Was not disappointed! Everything from the service to the food was wonderful!
I lived for 4 years in Korea and am so glad to have stumbled upon this gem. The kimchi jiggae is to DIE for. It’s better than any restaurant I’ve had in Korea. Their choice blend of spices, how the soup was layered and cooked with complex flavors was absolutely beautiful. We had a takeout meal and the next day, I added lemon juice and water to the leftover soup to make it more sour and less intense. Order an extra side of rice, add some more broth or water, and it makes a light meal for two. The rice is a fluffy texture, and pan chan set was delicious. The jajjiang myeon was too sweet and sauce thicker than what I would have liked. I’d definitely would like something less pasty and more savory. I look forward to my next meal at Oseyo!
I came here for an intimate birthday celebration and had a good experience. The restaurant has a really cool ambience, romantic lighting, quality tableware and seating, and the cool vibes typical to Austins east side. One issue I noticed is that the walkways between tables were too narrow. Even with my chair pulled in all the way everyone that walked by bumped into me. A server accidentally spilled food on my friend because there was just not enough space for their dining carts. This was a little annoying so I would highly recommend getting seated by the windows to avoid this from happening. The family style shared plates was a lot of fun and the food was high quality. The sides and small plates were delicious! Especially loved the shrimp and scallion pancake. I think the meat dishes were lacking in flavor though and turned out drier than I expected. You could tell the bulgogi was cooked in a pile because it was not very well seared.Overall I had a great time here and enjoyed the whole experience! I would like to try more dumplings and noodle dishes next time.
Pot stickers were great , fried chicken was so tasty with great sauce. Everything we got we would order again especially all the grilled fish and chicken
Good service, but insanely overpriced for below average food.
The food is terrific! The staff is so kind and happy. This is definitely one of our new favorite spots and we are glad it’s in the neighborhood. Thanks for your terrific service. Love the originality of the menu and the all-around good vibes.
Rude staff! When my order was incorrect the server was condescending and spoke down to me instead of apologizing. Food was also hit or miss, and the entire time we felt rushed. Food came out all at once and we barely had time for two drinks before they brought us the check.
Excellent ambience, beautiful artwork on the wall, and attentive wait staff. The food was delicious, with vegan options. Enjoyed the veggie pot stickers and sweet potato noodles and veggies. Quite filling. Good place to dine with friends.
Before and even now in quarantine, their food quality still stays the same - dine in or take out! Great place and delicious food!
Food is very good. Paper napkins would have been helpful. The music is way too loud to have a decent conversation. Frenetic energy in general. While the servers are friendly, it was not easy to order anything extra. It was very peaceful once we left!
My so and i ordered some food from here for our anniversary and boy howdy was it amazing! truly, wholly delicious! Not to mention that they put some tlc in the packaging of the food! would extremely recommend !! hell, i dont even write reviews and yet, i was compelled to do so by the fantastic food!!!
Very yummy, lots of space, and super sweet staff!
This is not authentic korean food. Was very surprised due to the high reviews, but none of the food we ordered taste like anything you would get in Korea or any authentic Korean restaurant.Their service and packaging for to go is very good, but just be warned- if you were expecting flavorful Korean food, you will get a VERY watered down version
This place is sooo beautiful, with clearly marked vegan items, and friendly staff. The portions are quite big, and the flavors are delicious.
Yall. First time. The ddukboki was dry and bland. Bibimbapap had a spoonful of meat. Its like TexMex but TexaRean. No where close to Authentic
The setting was lovely, the service very good and the food was fresh but not at all hot! Kimchee, Chili Paste, requested Hot Sauce... none of it had more than a gentle heat spice-wise. No explosion of taste and hot spice!
Fanstastic Korean restaurant with hearty servings and eclectic menu choices. I highly recommend getting a reservation to avoid waiting too long. The meat was cooked perfectly and everything was evidently fresh. I will be back again no doubt.
I’ve been searching for a Korean restaurant in Austin for years. Always settling and or flying to Los Angeles for my mom’s home cooking. This restaurant reminds me of my mom’s cooking. Each dish is made with generational knowledge passed down that can never be replicated. It’s a cozy spot that’s good for Koreans and non Koreans. Love that this restaurant elevates classic Korean Dishes into healthier options without losing flavor or love. This is a great place for Vegetarians and Meat lovers. A traditional Korean meal with modern Austin Flair...
We went for dinner yesterday during happy hour and sat at the bar. Im not familiar at all with Korean food, so we ordered everything on the happy hour except for the pork belly because I dont like that texture. The food arrived quickly. It was spaced out a little but we still ended up with five or six plates in front of us. The food was excellent. The service was a little slow once we got our food. We had to ask for a wine list twice before we received it. I cant speak to authenticity or if the food has been changed to accommodate an American palate. The space was cute. I think only two or three tables were occupied when we were there, so I dont know if it would get really loud once more people showed up. The lounge seating at the entrance is a little awkward.
We had an 8pm dinner reservation for 4 couples. We arrived on time. They had us wait by the bar indoors even though our reservation was in the patio. We ordered drinks and waited for at least 30 minutes. When we went to the bar to check on our drink order they told us they were working on it so we headed back outside to our table. More time passes and still no drinks . My sister and I headed inside to check on the drink order. This time someone named Dawn told us we were not going to be helped unless we had our masks on. We immediately apologized and headed outside to get our masks. Shortly after Dawn is back and tells my friend we were not going to be served . Shes whispering to my friend while Im sitting right next to him and I heard her say that we had violated the mask policy four times which is not true. Management needs to train employees. Were Peruvian and felt singled out . We have never had to wait for a full hour and leave a restaurant with no food or drinks. The hostess and server had an agenda and were very disrespectful. We will never dine there again.
Put this restaurant on your list as a must go to! Outstanding in every aspect...the food ridiculously flavorful and true to its description of straight up Korean home cooking. The decor is beautiful with a simplistic flair that just makes you feel comfortable and with personal touches from the Owners home just makes you smile. The staff is friendly and Morgan (the Manager) is extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to care of us which we are super grateful. This new restaurant is going to be a big hit for the neighborhood so go now and check it out. We loved it!
I’m bursting with excitement over the addition of Oseyo to Austin’s dining scene after eating dinner there last night! While living in Seoul for 2.5 years, I grew fond of Korean fare and was asked often by students I taught there when Korean cooking would catch on in the US. They were proud of their food (rightly so) and wondered why it wasn’t as widely embraced as other Asian cuisines. I had my own theories, but diplomacy and general awareness of my place as a foreigner kept me from vocalizing much.
