Wrong place name ,it is Government ITI Attingal . Industrial Training Institute s were the hot destination of keralites after SSLC during the 1960s and 1970s . Lakhs of people benefited from such a skill education . It supplied the necessary skilled workforce for the industries . Even though Kerala doesnt have much industrial units ,this ITI certificate equipped many malayalees to work abroad and consequently better their lives. During late 1970s and 1980s polytechnic s snatched away the youth with their three year diploma in engineering program which appeared more attractive and rewarding . This took away some sheen from ITIs . But with the advent of self financing engineering colleges in early part of this century ITIs become the last choice of the youth. This caused the downfall of a prestigious system. When compared with diploma engineers ,and graduate engineer s ITI students have more hands on experience with machinery since theory lessons are less and practical sessions are more . The duration of an ITI certification course is two years . Different trades are available for the students such as electrician, mechanic motor vehicle, welding, turning,machinist etc. This institution is established in the 1960s by the government of Kerala during the heyday s of ITI education.

I had preferred an application for information under RTI act on 19 Nov 2018 on the subject matter of terminal leave surrender after retirement. No reply received so far and therefore sent a reminder on 11 Dec 18.Hope Adm authorities will render a reply soon so as to further take up my case with higher authorities.

Govt ITI Attingal, located in Chirayinkeezhu Taluk of Trivandrum district, was established  in 1972 for providing Craftsman training in five trades. Initially the institute was at the Palace building, Attingal .  In 1974 land was acquired for ITI building .  Foundation stone for the present ITI building was laid in 1974 by then Labour Minister  Sri.Vakkom Purushothaman . The building inaugurated and dedicated in 1978 by Sri.Oomman  Chandy.  Govt ITI  Attingal is one of the first grade ITIs in the state, with 19 NCVT affiliated trades and  more than 1000 trainees undergoing Craftsman Training.      Two trades are dedicated for trainees from SC& ST categories.The institute was selected for upgradation as part of PublicPrivate PartnershipTo creat a skilled and technically qualified workforce who would contribute to the growth and development of the nation.To provide quality training to all possible trainees so as to achieve the national goal of   millions so as to reduce unemployment.MissionTo facilitate training as per the   Craftsman Training Scheme.   Ensure skill training is made available to maximum youth of the country.Director General of Employment and Training (DGET) have certain vision and mission while starting the craftsman training scheme all over India. To provide training on different  Engineering and Non- Engineering trades To impart systematic training to improve the quality and quantity of skilled workers  which makes better results in Industrial production.The educated unemployed youth should get skilled training that make  them qualified to work in Industries. Unemployment problem will considerably be reduced through skilled training. As a continuous process, craftsman Training Scheme will provide steady flow of skilled workers for industrial sector
