Good food, fresh beer, great place to relax. The location is not next to some super loud club or corner. Fairly cozy place to drink and eat late at night. All the appetizers are rather quick interesting. Really like the fried/baked huge head of cauliflower, fairly good wings, and huge mound of pork nachos. All washes down well with a flight of beers. Only wish there were more food options of than the typical beer food grub.
Ive hung out here a few times and its a nice little spot to have some beers and something to eat. If Im in that area Im grateful there is a great beer place to go to. We actually were closer to the brewery itself and had been many times, enjoying the beer very much, so its nice to have both that and a sit-down dining experience. The food weve had was not bad, and the service was decent.
Went there for an early date with my husband. Wow !! Staff beyond wonderful , friendly and engaging. I have to say the wings probably one of the best weve had. Cool atmosphere the place is bright and clean. Such great vibes there ! Definitely a return visit is due !
Very nice staff, clean restaurant and decent beer selection. The food is kind of hit or miss. The bar food - burgers, fries, etc. are good. Pasta was dry, asparagus was nearly raw and French onion soup was thin and underseasoned. Id go back for beer selection but probably skip the food.
Face Plant. Yes!Alicia and Jessica at the bar are truly awesome! They are super intuitive and know exactly what out orders might be and very prompt at that .they just get it .My favorite place to hangout now...
I was expecting more on a Saturday night. We know that we like Lost Rhino beer and decided to try Lost Rhino Retreat. The weather was perfect so we sat outside and service was SLOW. It seemed like no one even noticed us for the first 15 minutes and then when I reached out to another waiter they passed us off to someone else and said that they were short staffed. It never got better. The beer was great. The food was good. The service was awful. We wont be returning any time soon.
Great beer, great food, and reasonably priced. Awesome place to watch a game or grab a quick drink/snack. Their steak sliders on pita are out of this world...
First beer selection was too milky. Second choice they were out of. Third choice, a Mexican lager, was good. But still, youre a brewery. Make sure you A) have your beer and B) have clean tap lines.
It was slow when we went but the place is nice and clean. The atmosphere is fun and the food was really good. Lots of people were bringing in their growlers for the Monday refill deal so the beer seems popular. The wait staff was nice and as attentive as we wanted. Well be visiting again.
Good craft beer. Family friendly. Food was good; service was attentive. This is a good place to grab some excellent craft beer and tasty food.
The fish tacos were awesome, but that was the only item on the menu that the server knew was gluten sensitive. The medium-well steak was closer to medium-rare. We all ran out of drinks long before the server asked if we wanted more to drink.
Best part of this is that it is dog-friendly. On a hot summer day they wait staff bring a bowl of water for your pup before they even offer water to the humans. Covered outdoor patio, patio games, music, sports TV, tattooed wait staff. Craft draft beer - Face Plant would be my recommendation. Fantastic pretzel bread, good burgers. Only reason I dont give it 5 stars is that sometimes the kitchen gets backed-up and you have to wait a bit for your order. And, sometimes they are understaffed so you have to really flag down a server. Other than that, it is typically a great experience and right next door to the movie theater. Covered parking garage.
Good American style pub food with solid service to back it up. Their root beer is excellent! Recommended.
Great for our company meet in great as far as space and options. The waitors could be more organized when we come. Food usually takes forever and orders get lost.
Food was terrible, went with a group of 10 people including kids and if you order shrimp salad expect to get 4 shrimps in your salad, they barely will give you chicken, and quite stingy overall. All of the people were disappointed with their orders. Drinks are terrible as well, to go safe, just order water. Overall, I wonder when are they closing down, I wouldn’t go there even if they give me free food. No thanks. I will give it less than a year
Had a nice dinner here tonight with my wife and kids. The combination of quality yet inexpensive food and fresh craft beer makes this place shine.
Very good! Great service and beer, yummy food.
Saw the Chef on Fox 5, Sunday morning. Came in to eat! He came out to say hello. Food and beer was awesome.
Good food, the kids really liked the home made rootbeer. They also serve craft beer flights & currently have fantastic chalk art!
Cant say enough good things about our experience. Great service, some of the best Ive seen anywhere in awhile. Staff is well trained. The food was surprisingly good with large portions considering how inexpensive it was relative to other places in the DMV. Full rack of ribs with sides for $12? Unheard of.
Good food, a little pricey, but worth it.Fun music venue and a great place to watch the games.Great brews as well, superb selection.
A little expensive (par for the Ashburn course), but the food was very good and the environment / interior were really cool. 2 patios, too - one ground level, one second floor. I like having the trees outside. They apparently just recently changed their french fries too, and those are AMAZING now.
Wow. First time experience. Probably not come back. So far 3 hours here with a full beer to go. Appetizers and beer were satisfactory bar food. Service is cause for 3 star rating.
Love this place. They have good food, a great beer selection mostly of their brews and they have an outdoor space that is dog friendly. They also have dog bowls available.
Always fun finding a place that is out of the way right in the middle if it. Tgis spot is tucked away in the Brambelton Plaza shopping center. I went here looking for something else and ironically got lost and found the rhino. The Lost Rhino is everything you want in a local brewery. Great food and friendly staff willing to hang out and take time out for those wayward travelers that stop in.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! I had the sirloin steak with bourbon sauce. Wow! Beer is good too of course. But wow, the food! Thank you!
Great selection of beers from Lost Rhino of course. The food was great. Atmosphere is fun and a nice patio seating section which part of is covered so you can still sit outside if its raining.
Never had a bad meal. Great selection of food and apps. Wine for the non beer drinker and great beer for the beer fans. Kids love the Mac n cheese and chicken tenders. Brewhouse fries are a must have. Waitstaff is always great (my girls LOVE Sam). They are conaistently good. We are regulars at this point.
Great selection of beer, large bar area and friendly staff. Lots of space to sit (bar, hightops and low tables, outdoor, upstairs). Food is average, maybe a little below average. Live music on weekends and the fire pit are nice.
What a great place to hang out. We had our company Holiday party here, and the staff was great and the food was great. The Pale Ale I had was really good but the Hefeweizen was not good. That is my only criticism.
Each visit is just a bit disappointing. The food is OK but - never very-good. The decoration is bleek by intent, but the look fails and comes off as uninviting rather than informal. The service is quick - they try despite the kitchen. The beer and ale are the real draw, but these can be had elsewhere! Its OK... 3 stars.
Lost Rhino Retreat has great beers and delicious $6 burgers on Wed nights. Bartenders always know about the beers on tap and make good recommendations.
Loved the food, beer and great service - highly recommended as a place to eat before watching a movie next door.
Nice staff, nice place to hang out, lots of drinks, and good food but not a lot of choices.
Great service. Good crowd. Cold beer. Highly recommended
Horrid service went in got seated it was dead durning lunch time waited 20 mins didnt even get water ... left its as if my wife, son and I were not even there !!!
Best brewery to go to in Ashburn! Great brews, food, and deals to be had. Always stop by for their seasonals and events!
From what you would expect from the outside view and the overall atmosphere they project, there seem to be some flaws with small things that make a difference. Mens restrooms only had one working light and in the party we attended up stairs, they offered coffee with the desert to only find out the machine was broken. There was also a private room upstairs missing a door. These are small things but, it gave me the impression that they are letting it go and not maintaining that clean up to date sense.
I would only go here if you want good food, good beer and good service.
Nice atmosphere good food. love the burgers and salads
Good beer and really great food! Cant wait to go back!
I spent $100 for 3 drinks, 2 apps, 3 meals, 20+% tip. Would have preferred to spend less on more beer at the actual brewery, which has an amazing atmosphere, lots of events during the week. Have I mentioned the atmosphere? Several classic pinball machine, retro console games, amazing chalk art last time I went, friendly crowd. All of the good stuff I listed is not the Retreat. I did bring home a solid meal though.Out of multiple beers (15m driver to the literal brewery that produces it), good enough wait staff, nothing compelling on the menu, after this experiment I recommend the least expensive options, at most the tacos. Its brambleton, though, so increased prices on underwhelming food and missing beers for lunch on a Sunday is par for the course. They were out of Face Plant, cmon. My personal favorite was still there (not huge into ipas personally but face plant is solid... But I forget the name. Its a Weiss, iirc). Still one of the best places to eat at brambleton but if I wanted to get good food Id go as far as Magnolias at the Mill in Purcellville (utterly surrounded by other great breweries and mediocre vineyards), or one of the many great places in Leesburg, much closer. For cheap eats, Id rather get beer from lidl 10m away (any of the 3 Harris teeters surrounding Ashburn all sell lost rhino drinks too) and takeaway from halal guys for a solid (if spicy if youre not careful) streaming-service-of-your-choice-and-chill date at home.Honestly, not bad if youre drinking and not eating, and have a solid medium sized group, and reserve seats... And only have to walk home or use a ride service. Nothing on the menu is worth the price. Go to doner bistro in Leesburg for imported beers and doner kabobs (and downstairs is an ultra cheap bar with interesting regulars), or better yet the actual lost rhino brewery which is just across waxpool
We went during the day and it was pretty dead but the service was good, the food was good, the beer was very good, and the prices were reasonable for that area. Very nice experience.
Try the Shooter McMunns Irish Stout - Outstanding!
Good beer selection with a casual atmosphere.
Nice place for craft beer and food around brambleton.
Fine selection of beers. Excellent food and service. Delightful atmosphere.
Relaxing restaurant that brings a new attraction to the Brambelton Town Center. Great place to have a local craft beer from Lost Rhino as well a couple other rotating local brews.
Good beer but menu needs simple foods.
Food was delish, beer was great, and the server was very helpful! Will definitely be back!
Nice location, live music, good selection of appetizers and great beer on tap.
Cool place to hang out in brambleton. Live music at times, patio dining weather permitting, and reasonable be selection.
Fresh Beer, Food was excellent, live music was fantastic!
A fine little restaurant. Definitely wish there was a bit more brewery to it.
Good food, good beer and good price. What more could you want.
Good place for drinking beer
Great beer and fast service. Update 7/29/ 2018. Our waiter was Sean, he is not a good employee. In fact he forgot and was slow to respond.
Good atmosphere. Terrible beer. Average bar food.
Came here for the first time today because I was in the area and was totally disappointed. There are a lot of things wrong and I will lost them...1)we waited about 5 min at the door because there was no one there. I mean, servers passed us and said nothing.2) There were kids running around everywhere. Past people tables, in the lobby. EVERYWHERE. There parents nor the staff stopped them and it was irritating when I was trying to enjoy a meal with my friend.3) Food took forever. I mean, over 20 min for a kids meal. Also I only got a kids meal because they dont have an adult sized chicken tenders! That was a first for me.4) Our server took long to greet us, get us our drinks, then to get us refills, and to even bring the check. Every step of the way we had to ask for what we needed and waited endlessly for it. When she brought our food she said she would get us a refill. I was okay with it even though I had finished my drink over 5 min before the food came and had been looking for her but she didnt even get us the refill until we were done with the food! This whole experience was horrible.Food was weird. Tenders dont even taste like tenders. They dont even look loke tenders They look like fried pieces of cod. Dry as all hell too. Im suprised kids would actually eat that I wish I didnt. Fries was the best part of the meal but they are the same fries that Freddy Custard so of cource its good.Side note: This place confuses me. They have a rhino with a surfboard, but ski chairs, pallets on the wall and Bob Marley pictures. Its a confused mess.
Beer is phenomenal. Pretty pricey but not too bad compared to other places in Ashburn.
Never an issue for seating large groups. Fun, friendly atmosphere and the food is delicious.
This ski lodge themed ale house offers a good selection of local craft beers and in general just a good place to relax and socialize.
Great family establishment with even better beer
Local staple, both for beer and food. I find the beer wanting, particularly compared to others in the area. Try Adroit or Belly Love as well
Good food, high prices though
The food is good but a tad bit pricey. Beverage selection and service Id excellent.
Solid beer selection, food is actually pretty good and reasonably priced as well. Still feel like theyre missing out on the full potential of the location. Would be best if they stayed open to 1 on friday/Saturday to provide a watering hole to late night movie traffic and perhaps got a drop down screen for sports events. The lack of tvs is a plus but unfortunately a necessity for games. Music Playlist is on point as well.
Good beer and great people.
Table was not wiped down from previous guest. And we had to get up and get our oun silverware and napkin from another table due to waitstaff standing and talking to each other at register
Try the pretzel, beers are great too.
Great food, good beer, awesome atmosphere 👍.
Not a bad place but I wasnt a fan of any of their beers.
Save your money before you go for average bar food. Beer is good, service was ok.
Cant handle slow hours. Ordered fish tacos through the phone, they said wait time would be 15 minutes, but I ended up waiting 32 minutes. Terrible. Inefficient.
Great beer, great food.
Fantastic selection, friendly staff and great food
One of nice hang up place at Brambleton town center.
Its grt place for retreat, local brewed beers paired with good food, wish they served other liquors but quite happy with their IPAs face plant, ice breaker and few others ...
Good was fair
Good food!! The family will be back.
Good brew pub with decent food options. Live music on weekends.
Food was bland, service was terrible. $5 for 5oz of beer...get outta here! Beer wasnt even good, we walked away! Will not go back!
Accellent beer food could be better.
Excellent place and the beer is amazing
Best place ever! Love it
Great food, beer and staff
Solid local beer with a good burger.
A little overpriced. Food, service, and ambiance were OK.
Wow what a great place with great beer.
Great food and drink.
Foods okay. Beer is excellent!
Awesome rhinofest!
I got sick from the beer here. I don’t think they’re cleaning their lines.
The salmon was amazing.
Great food and awesome beer
