Very nice Camping spot. Clean and friendly, Except when I went to do laundry the employee in the gift shop/office shut the door and locked me in the laundry. Felt very unwelcome. Would recommend camping space and will return, But would not use the laundry services Again.
By far the cleanest KOA I have been in and wonderful host and hostess. I HIGHLY recommend this park!!
A well maintained KOA campground. Spotless showers and restrooms with a well stocked KOA store. Personally I never used the pool but the amenity looked lovely. The camp hosts were helpful and friendly. Long pull through spaces.
I spent a weekend there and loved it and had planned to return this weekend to help my 85 year old parents move there. Unfortunately I had a family emergency arise and had cancel within 72 hours. I lost my 85 year old parents $70.00 deposit. The manager was rude and cold hearted, I didnt plan for this. This is pure greed!! I will stay at a hotel and pay 150 before I enter this greedy KOA again!!
The sites are close together, if you dont have a satellite for tv your out of luck. The wifi is very limited and slow so you cant stream. The staff is friendly and the view of the mountains are great. If they improve the wifi and or add cable I would giveem a 4 or 5 star.
Love this campground had a wonderful time. Place was very clean and nice.
This campground is clean and well maintained. The spots are large. A nice dog run area with clean-up tools. The staff is friendly and helpful. We throughly enjoyed our stay!
This KOA is well-maintained. The staff is hit or miss on friendliness. There isn’t a lot to do here if you have school-age children. It appears this park really caters to snowbirds As most RV parks in this area seem to do.
Good RV park, full hook ups. FYI, water is hot out of city water hook up. Only cold water is in fridge. It Arizona, 106 degrees in day in September.
I was going to give this place 5star, but on the last night I went to take a shower at about 7:30 and there was a man in the women bathrooms. Apparently the guys girlfriend let him in for who knows what. Who do you tell everything is closed. Thats why its only 3stars
Very nice RV park. Grounds were clean and nice, no potholes or crazy landscaping issues. Staff was busy. Pool and spa were busy but clean. Undergoing some electrical upgrades otherwise would have had more spaces available. Overall it would be a place I wouldnt mind using if I needed. I might be back. Keep up the good work.
Very fun.i reccomend go there now
Nice place to stay. Clean large RV pads with full hook-ups. A couple miles from Superstition mountain. Nice pool and close to shopping. About 30-40 minutes from Phoenix Downtown area.
The campground was great. Very nice and very well kept. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Didnt have any trouble at all. It was super easy to extend our stay due of a tire issue we had. Very pleased with this KOA.
UpdateWas contacted by manager and told theyFinally received the funds, she said nobody could give her a explanation for the problem. She did apologize. Might have been a coincidence she finally received my payment 2 days after posting a bad review, who knows. Im glad its resolved at least. Yet to be seen if I will return. If I do, I will bring cash.lol.After taking over $1,000 out of my bank account they claimed I was trying to steal from them, which would have been funny had it not been for my bank account completely drained and almost $200 and overdrafts on payday all from their register
Loved this campsite. It has spacious spots, it’s cleanly, and well-kept. Everyone was super friendly, and it’s one of the few campsites without age restrictions (which we were so glad to find). People were always out and about walking their dogs or just hanging out, but the campsite was never noisy. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. There’s a small dog park, and had a little general store and a pool. It is a short and easy drive to Mesa, Gilbert, Tempe, etc. It’s right off of 60 and is only a few miles from Goldfield and the Superstition Mountains which ended up being two of our favorite places in all of the Phoenix area. Will definitely stay at again if we make another trip down to Phoenix! 5/5 recommend staying here.
The park was clean. Heat warning all week. I asked for the shady spot because I was having ac issues and was told that it wasn’t available. It was empty all week!!!! The power surges finished off what was left of my ac and had to buy a new one. Thanks Apache RV.While trying to find a replacement ac I again asked about the empty spot to have some relief from the extreme conditions and was told it still wasn’t available. When I pointed out that it has been and is still empty I was told they could save it for whoever they want. I offered to pay more for that spot but no.A little bit of power can go toPeople’s headsWill never go back
Site small for big rig events though says its big rig friendly. Unfriendly staff. Wont come back.
One of the best campground we have been ☀️👍
Excellent experience at this campground. Grounds are well kept. Pool area and bathrooms are extremely clean. Quite, good people, had a great week here. Staff is friendly and will do anything to help you out.
Office was closed when we arrived at 3:56, sign said open until 4:00, website says 5:00. Wifi is bad. They say only for checking email and they monitor traffic. No telework, had to get additional hotspot. Camp host was condescending and unhelpful. We have paid a lot less for a lot better campgrounds.
I have stayed at this koa before. We were evacuated from our home due to a forest fire in northern arizona. Front office was very nice. The park is very neat and tidy. Nice dog park. Our pull thru was very spacious. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi. I would stay here again.
Great appearance w/desert landscaping. Different prices for different size sites. Site 71 is huge. Raked sites are very inviting upon arrival. Great friendly staff. Very clean restrooms. Alternating site direction allows more usable space and eliminates sewer connection on awning side.
Great staff! Super clean grounds & restrooms/showers. A little high priced but what can you say when they are all FULL. Get the dollars you can when you can, there wont be a full campground in town when its 110-115 outside.
Newly remodeled tent sites and campground, friendly staff, cleaniness and terrific views is what we experienced. The place seemed brand new. One of the better KOAs weve stayed at. We would make a special trip to stay here again to enjoy the Las Cruces area. The view at sunrise after a rainy night was special.
Very nice place clean spots nice pool clean bathrooms friendly staff will stay again
The grounds of park are well maintained however the laundry house was shameful! We decided not to laundry there went approximately 3 miles to a very nice public laundromat. We ask for level spot, nice hookups, newer washer/ dryers! Really KOA?
Very busy. Hardly any space between spots. Make sure you bring earplugs if you tent camp. Since youll be within a few feet of your neighbor, hopefully you make friends quickly. The most frustrating thing was in the morning, the bathrooms were messy and had no toilet paper. For the price they are charging its expected to have a clean bathroom ready to go. Obviously campers are going to use the facilities in the morning. The jacuzzi was super foamy and wasnt very clean. Wont be staying here again. Dont know why I tried KOA again.
Location sites are clean Great access to canyon lake and goldfield
Very nice pool with hot tub that is well maintained. There is a small covered patio nearby and plenty of seating. Kids love it!There is a small dog potty park on one side of the rv park, & a kids playground on the other side. Not much shade anywhere. But the sites are well taken care of with a tractor and gravel grater after each guest leaves. The wi-fi is really bad - just be prepared. They have shower and laundry facilities that are very clean, too.The staff are always active around the park, & the office has ice cream, ice, etc. This is a nice KOA. :)
We come from Los Angeles and have stayed here almost every Christmas Eve since 2010. Its a great in between from my husbands grandparents house and my moms house (They both live in AZ). Some years we have stayed in our camper van with our dogs and some years we stay in a Cabin with our dogs. We LOVE this place! And we always say hi to Chief No Thumbs! 🏕️
Great place to stay for a few nights or a few months. Most of the sites are large and level. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities clean. Wi-Fi pretty bad but that is a given at all campgrounds. The only thing I would change is I would put a combination lock on the laundry room with same code as restrooms. The laundry room is currently only accessible from 8 am until 9 pm. Would be nice to have access around the clock.
It costs $22 to use dump station. No garbage cans at station area.
Unfriendly check in desk. We came at 6 the night prior and didn’t realize we had to check in in person the next morning. We were greeted and given our paperwork by an employee at the main building when we arrived. He even drove us to our site. He never once mentioned checking in in person. Also, Covid!! Why increase in person interactions. That office is tiny.So I proceeded to get a call from Darlene lecturing me about check in even after I explained the miscommunication. There is zero accountability or empathy here. They will not refund you for anything even if they create a hostile experience. We requested under the Special Accommodations online for a late check out on the day we left. They did it in the past for us so no big deal. The guy that greeted us and gave us our paperwork never said anything negative towards it.Darlene proceeded to lecture me that they do not read special accommodations with online booking at all that I would have to pay for any other need. There was zero care for the customer experience. I will never stay here again, nor will I recommend this to my friends or family.
Actually the KOA was good. Seemed clean for the most part. But pricey. Quoted us $53 for tent site and 57 for small RV.
Clean and pleasant, just dont change or alter your reservations in any way as they dont credit your stay if you change plans and leave early or decide to stay longer (still would need to pay a daily rate if you decide to stay longer than 3 weeks or if they dont have a monthly rate spot available-they wanted me to pay the daily rate for 6 weeks to pick up a monthly spot after I already paid for 3 weeks). Eloy KOA is another great option.
Great park, spent 5 days there. Very clean and well kept. Staff friendly and helpful.
Good location and amenities. Daily pricing is a bit high, but its hard to find anything low cost this time of year in AZ to camp in.
Beautifully set up, great staff. Price could be better especially for location, but overall a great place to stay.
Clea RV park with great views of the Superstition Mountains. Our RV site was very spacious and everything worked fine. Office staff is nice and the gentleman who guided us to our site is the absolute best. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and we look forward to returning.
Clean, staff is friendly, well kept up playground for kids and a separate one for your 4 legged babies. Looking forward to going back
Great park. Little busy but it is springbreak so that is expected. Friendly staff and well kept
The absolute best campground ever! A rig leaves and they are on that sight instantly cleaning, raking and checking it over! The pool was great, laundry clean, and flat sights. Awesome. Stayed while visiting family in town. Would stay again.
Very clean quiet KOA, didnt use the any of the amenities other than the dog run.
Well maintained - Friendly staff - large pull thru sites. Reasonably priced. Nice view of the Superstitious
They need more cabins that allow pets. I would have liked to stay the night as I was visiting my sister, but the cabins that were available were all no pets. I was disappointed. But it is a nice park and the attendance tried to be helpful. The office does close quite early, I believe its at 4:00 so business needs to be taken care of before that
Parking is great might as well be in a parking lot though. Bathroom is subpar- definitely not clean Im sure thats because most of the people have an RV
It’s an OK KOA. The staff is friendly enough. There’s some sort of awkward vibe here I don’t know what it is. Their dog park is honestly a sad excuse for a dog park... should put some sod down in it or something. It is however a very clean park. The workers clean the sites as soon as someone leaves and they do the job pretty thoroughly. They have WiFi but it doesn’t work great (like most campgrounds...) so if you need to do work off your laptop, it’s not a good place for you to be.
The Koa and staff were very nice but Alan the manager was horrible to deal with. The koa was loosing shore power multiple times and it blew our electric panel. Alan was no help at all. Stay here if you want but avoid the manager at all costs.
This was an ok KOA. The bathrooms were clean, property was clean. The dog park was clean, but small. The major concern was the lack of masks and enforcement of masks. We ALL received rules stating masks wearing, yet employees and guests were not wearing masks. Also, the pull throughs are set up in a way that your door opens looking to the door of the site next to you...this made leaving our rig a bit uncomfortable. And not everyone cleans up after their pets, our site had multiple piles of poo, but when the ground looks like kitty litter I guess it par for the course.
Its very well kept polite people a little expensive I think but worth it.
Nice RV park, very friendly, expensive without the additional amenities to justify the cost. Cellular has been superb at this location (AT&T and TMOBILE)
This is a very clean KOA. It’s generally pretty easy to park and normally easy in easy out access. The only “complaint” I have is that some of the dogs here are out of control. Some of the campers have their dogs that aren’t friendly on 20-30ft long tie outs and can almost reach the road. My poor sweet boy gets snapped at often. Some people also look down at you if you have one dog in the dog park and they want their aggressive dogs in it. They just stare at you awkwardly and make you feel uncomfortable enough to leave. 5 aggressive labs. The owners aren’t too friendly either. That however is not the campgrounds fault.WiFi doesn’t work great, so if you have a job that requires WiFi connection, streaming and a lot of bandwidth, move on.
A nice place this KOA in Apache Junction, friendly and helpful people in the office. I wish they would extend their dump station hours, maybe bump it up a couple hours to 6 o’clock with summer coming in.
I was really surprised when I went here this place was really nice I wouldnt mind parking my RV there and camping out for however long it was really nice
1st time I called this place the 2 ladies in the office were really nice.. They were trying to find us a spot for our 43ft 5th wheel with 6 slides. They even talked about moving people around. They told me to follow up again this week. When I did the MANAGER was SO rude and told me she was not willing to let our camper in cause it was too big. So when I tried to ask her nicely why last week she was willing to move people but today not willing to help or check at all.. she told me that I was not welcome to her park anymore all because I asked what happen to last weeks plans. She said her Canadians were more important and they pay more but yet she wouldnt give me a price for paying more.
Wonderful little cabins , great employees and meeting the other guest was awesome.
We really enjoy staying at this KOA .. the staff is very friendly and professional..this is our 2nd time staying here and we will be coming back
Nice KOA, easy to get to, pretty views. We are just staying for the night but have to give a shout out to the staff (big thanks to Kiko, who was especially kind to my 10 year old on his first independent shopping trip in the camp store. Would return!
This campground is conveniently located a few miles outside the Superstitious Mountain area and about 30 minutes from the middle of Phoenix. The bathrooms were clean. The showers were warm. The pool and hottub were clean. They had plenty of comfy chairs and seating pool side. The lounge is very nice with an impressive pool table, couch, big screen and comfortable seating. Our site was a standard small site between 50 and 60 a night. Pebble ground made it a tiny bit hars to level RV but we like it. A good compromise between dirt and pavement. There are a few sites that are tight so ask about your site size before deciding what type of space you would like. There are also some large sites that come with their very own grill and patio or well maintained cactus garden. The hook ups worked well. The office staff was nice. In regards to masking...they ask in the laundry/rec room mask are worn. Not so much in the bathroom (but you cant shower and brush your teeth with a mask on anyway). With that said they arent enforcing it. Apache Junction in general is kind of an anti mask hotspot. The public areas were never so busy that you couldnt come back later. Several times I left a room because a camper wasnt wearing their mask and returned later but yes it was a little aggravating that people can be so sillly and selfish so that is disheartening. The weather was nice so I tried to let it go as much as possible. Just know its not heavily enforced and plan to use you site hook ups if need be. The pool/hottub had plenty of slow times with no one in it go early if you want space. The playground and dog park lack luster, very basic but there is plenty to do around that area. I recommend the park ranger program for kids at Superstitious Mountain state park and we liked the Superstitious Museum more than Goldfield. The younger ones preferred Goldfields. Absolutely take a drive down Apache Junction and picnic on the water near tortilla flat ( youll need a pass so call before you come to make sure you can get one issued). They offer them in Tortilla Flat at the store. I am giving 4 stars because the area around the camprgound is kind of yucky and the internet only worked by the office and in the rec room. Make sure to choose the free unlimited Wifi and use it near a common space or its useless. We would stay again and would recommend this campground but there are also lots of State Parks/National parks nearby you can check out but they dont have laundry and pool.
This was the worst KOA that we have ever stayed at. The power kept going out, we explained to them that we have 3 disabled children with medical supplies, they moved our spot once for power. We lost food due to their lack of power and updating. The water was out on and off. The manager had a nasty attitude. The pool was missing tiles, had a rust spot on the bottom and you could see the layer of filth on the tiles that were there. The pool was green for an entire week, when I said something, I was told the pool maintenance man comes everyday. We have stayed at KOAs traveling from NJ to AZ, they were great except this one.
Clean and well kept. I would go back again.
Lots of space. Friendly employees.
Great place to stay. Super clean and well maintained. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
When most of Mesa was out of propane for my BBQ Koa had plenty to offer, gr8 customer friendly service, reasonably priced per pound. Quick service
Awesome place. Awesome people very helpful! This KOA is really clean and very friendly! Enjoyable experience!
No fire pits, no laundry, no pool and the 12 people there they smash together like there is no space? Worst part is pipes freeze do to lack of heat tape or anything so we couldnt use the water. Claim they have wifi and cable but its a joke that even if it works turns off at like 7 lol.
What amazing views there are! The facilities were super clean! They also followed all covid protocol keeping everyone safe!!!
It is a nice place to stay and its a beautiful view of the Superstitionountains
This KOA is nice. Clean and well kept.
Not much going on with the current pandemic! Social distancing is a must.Office staff friendly. The guy that takes you to your site needs an aditude adjustment! Rude!🤔
An OK KOA. Very spotty WiFi, and irregular power. We about lost a fridge full of food. In fairness, the folks at the site were very nice and did explain about the power. It was being fixed the morning we left. Since we may try this site again, If the power and the WiFi get fixed, I will update this rating.
I’ve at stayed at KOAs all across the United States, we stayed here for about 2 months. This place is by far the worst of them all and it does not help that there is not any other parks in the area to compete with it. There should be laws against this place as it takes advantage of travelers who are not 55+.1 Star - Staff is rude and not helpful!1 Star - Amenities No internet l (they have WiFi but it doesn’t work), no cable TV, and power consistently went out!1 Star - Cost 945 monthly rate (electricity is separate) they did not refund our money when we left early, we paid for a month in advance.1 Star- appearance - you could mistake this place as a run down mobile home park, or a dusty parking lot it is by far not up to KOA standards.
Nice park. Friendly staff.
Great customer service. Internet is not strong to log in for school. No streaming.
If theres any chance of your plans changing stay someplace else. Im not sure if its KOA policy or the rude obnoxious lady I was dealing with at this particular location but there will be no sensitivity given to emergencies or changing plans only to keeping the money they demanded up front .Staff was great except for the typical Bad Apple. This is not a safe or comfortable place for your pets with no place for them to exercise. Quite frankly the refund policy is in place because these are subpar campgrounds. I suggest finding someplace else if you want the conveniences of a modern-day Campground. Another wonderful surprise youll find after its too late to get a refund but there is no provision made at this park for people with disabilities either and the only response I got from the front office lady is that they were grandfather out of caring for people who are in wheelchairs.
We had reservations for Tuesday, Sept 22 and we arrived after posted check-in time to find that the office was closed and our site was not accessible because the campground roads were being sprayed with oil. We attempted to find another way to get to our site, but were unsuccessful. Eventually, the owner/manager arrived on a golf cart and unapologetically stated that they need time to maintain the roads, and that people just need to understand. He further stated that he had hoped we would have showed up late. We paid for a patio site and the only other available sites were not appealing. The owner was unaccommodating and became surly and very unfriendly when we told him that we wanted a refund. He accused us of being unreasonable. We stay at KOAs often and havent encountered an owner like this previously. This wont taint our view of KOA, but we certainly want to warn others of this unfriendly location. Weve found that other KOAs proactively notify you via telephone call, email or text of news and situations prior to arrival. The management of this location doesnt seem to care enough about your business to extend this courtesy.
The ground covering they have is awful it tracks in really bad, but they are clean and keep it sanitized well. friendly people
Greedy, terrible management, money grubbing.Travel nurse, came in late, around 1am, with my husband and two sisters. We had issues with our truck in the 110 degree weather driving into AZ and were unable to check into our reserved campground. We went to KOA in a rush, the 24 hour line gave us no answer, so we pulled up and a box at the entrance, with envelopes of available sites, allowed us to pick a convenient site (the only reason I am giving them one star). Around 10 am we began receiving calls from the desk in regards to checking in properly, which we obliged. My husband paid for the site $78 and asked about monthly rates (as I will be working in the area for two months). Their monthly sites were reasonably priced (about $100 more per month than the local competition) however they made it clear that it would be a back-in site not a pull through. Not a problem we thought, however when we asked if the $78 from the night prior could be taken off the near $700 monthly fee (electric not included), we were met with a firm absolutely not. No wiggle room, no negotiation, no willingness to corporate. The argument being that you stayed in a pull through site, not a back-in site. Let me make it very clear that there were a multitude of sites available, we had no neighbors (for several rows) with no guidance from management overnight and coming in very late in 100 degree weather we literally just pulled into a site, not thinking much of it. After our discussion going absolutely no where with the front desk, it was now 10:38am and we were yet again reminded Check out is at 11am will you be leaving now? With again no attempt to keep our business, or even thank is for staying at a nearly desolate KOA at a very unreasonable price of $78 for a little as 10 hours. We paid and we left. I wouldnt recommend this place for anyone traveling through town. Not very friendly, helpful or positive a complete contradiction to the mission statement. This is definitely not the hospitality we have encountered at the numerous KOAs we have stayed at across the country. Think twice before spending your money on this one!
Nice staff, ok park, like all KOAs a bit pricey. But and this is key In PHX they dont require you to be OLD to stay there.
Going to the KOA to empty my trailer they were very nice I would go there again
The facility appeared nice and neat. We leveled and proceeded to hook up. The electrical tester showed a reversed polarity issue. Told staff, who checked and confirmed there was an issue. Manager said they would refund our money but he was not calling an electrician to repair it. He said they would just rent it out to somebody else, tonight. Apparently, integrity is not a burden at this park.
We stayed here twice on our way to and from CA. The pull-through spots are so easy to get in and out of and the sites are very spacious. The grounds are clean and there is a decent fenced-in dog area. We didnt partake in the pool or the playground, but they both seemed to be in good condition. A bit pricier than some other KOAs we have stayed at, but I think it is just due to the area.
Nice park. Some people just dont think the rules apply to them, but managers will say something if you let them know. TV reception is less than Mesa just down the road, just far enough out that you lose a fair amount of OTA channels. Certain spots have power and water on opposite side than normal hook up, you will need a long water hose and power cord.
This KOA is well maintained , clean, and easy to get into. The problem is that their internet/wifi is antiquated. Could barely log on, much less navigate the internet. Streaming is out of the question.
Always freindly staff and the frounds, bathrooms are always clean. Camp spots are raked and smooth. Tents site are basically right across one lane road tobpool and bathrooms. Tent sites are spacious. Lots to do around the area. Maybe 5 miles from Lost Dutchman state park,Goldfeild Ghost and mining town. Canyon lake is about 15-20 min away with a beautiful drive.
Well run spot, in an absolutely beautiful area!!!
Clean sites. Had to be there by 1600. Pool water like bath water. Just add soap!!!!! Good passing through lication.
No power when we checked in the water was off the next day
Good place to dump your rv. Lots of room
Very clean. Nice view of mountains.Expensive to just dump tanks.
Its ok
I drive by often looks clean and maintained
It was nice and peaceful. This a great place to camp.
Clean and well maintain. Quite day and night
