Cool museum. If you stay a bit longer in Antwerp I would suggest this museum. It was more interesting to me than MAS. Some parts are not in English which I find as a big mistake for a museum but other than that it was pretty nice.

The reception is pretty friendly. But the exhibition in general is poor. Not too many impressive jewelry or diamonds you can see in the gallery. Besides, the audio guide they use is ask you to scan the QR to link to YouTube. I think such display is not worth 12 euros for an adult. You might find more informative knowledge about diamond industry on Wiki than here. I don’t recommend this museum if you have limited time in Antwerp.

Nice museum if you have time left in Antwerp or if you are perticularly interested in diamonds and jewelry. Not for the average tourist...

Small museum in recently renovated surroundings. The collections is presented in an original way so you can really enjoy the masterpieces.

Interesting exhibit about diamonds and gemology, but most of the museum is about generically fancy things, from silverware to fine art. The micromurals were fascinating. Would recommend it, but probably wouldnt go more than once.

I found the museum to be very well laid out and full of beautiful jewelry, as expected. What I didnt expect was the extra detail they paid toward making it an *experience*.The audioguide is a must and, if you can get over the idea of jumping from display to display, the stories they built definitely leave an impression. The amount of information presented about diamond, the diamond trade, jewelry, the history of such jewelry... its almost overwhelming. The stories are also fun, if historically questionable. As well, their interactive exhivits are actually presented in a realllly cool way. The special exhibit was... interesting. Much more artsy than what I enjoy, alllmost impossible not to see as one giant sales pitch... but I wont remove a star because *Im not an art person*: if one were I feel it would have enraptured.

My girlfriend and I have spent a wonderful time visiting this museum. We were very positively surprised by the richness and the diversity of the museum. It really gives a good overview on the origin of diamonds and explain their different characteristics in an interactive form. I would like to highlight also the sympathy of the staff.

An excellent museum with a good explanation of the importance of Antwerp as a diamond centre and also the mining, cutting and finishing process for the gems.Whilst only small, the museum is very dense with beautiful exhibits. The audio guides are excellent with both factual and story based narratives. This gives the experience a nice sense of purpose and really carries you on a journey.Staff are friendly and helpful. Many times attracted my attention when I walked by that street. Today I finally decided to pay a visit and dont regret it at all! It is small, but it is a fun and impressive experience. The pieces are beautiful and stunning, and the audio guide gives you some nice stories! Wont forget the peafowl or the owl cup!

A great Museum in the Center of Antwerp dedicated to Diamonds and the History Of It. Its a new museum and very nice to visit. A must do when you are in the city. The collection has a wide variety of jewellery, Catholic relics and lots of other Shiny Things. The history of the diamond is also very good portrayed.

Review №25

Receptionist was rude and unwilling to explain the different ticket options - gave us a leaflet and send us to the back of the queue so we ended up waiting behind people who got there after us! The museum has some nice pieces but the order is illogical, its too difficult to match the pieces with their descriptions in the written information, the audio clips did not work properly, and there were places where you had to open drawers in order to see things, which does not work well if there are quite a few visitors at the same time. I saw a couple of nice gems and pieces of jewellery, and watched an interesting video on how to select and cut stones, but I didnt get much more out of it than that. We both came out feeling that it had been a disappointing experience that was poor value for money. The previous diamond museum that has now closed was infinitely better.

Snooping around in the dark with no audio guide (broken) was pretty boring. The exhibited jewels will enchant you.

Review №28

This was a pretty unfulfilling visit. You get an audioguide to go through the exhibition but it doesnt provide you much information but invented stories about people who created the jewelries.Dont go there if you want to know anything about the impact of the diamond trade over history, colonialism or mining. The whole museum is really fancy and is only promoting this luxury industry...

Very interesting collection. As a person more interested in the history of diamond trade, jewelery techniques like cut, and mining I enjoyed very much the interactive part. However I recognise that the collection itself is beautiful and some pieces are truly masterpieces with intriguing stories behind. Unfortunately it was really too cold inside and the fact that they require you to leave bags and coats in a locker makes sort of inconvenient coming back to take something to dress for the low temperature. I suggest to advise about it. Very nice shop at the end with interesting books. I would place some pieces of rough diamonds in the collection from different places with a microscope to observe the differences. I would also place more emphasis on the industrial use of diamonds to give awareness. That would be super cool.

Poorly designed and of very little value as electronic guide was completely useless. Wanted to find out about the diamond industry history as well as methods of converting raw diamonds into gems but this place is too confusing and over digitalized to be of any use. Cost is 10 Euros per person which is 10 Euros too much. Don’t waste your time in a city that has much more to offer than a Google inspired museum.

This is not really a museum but a way of getting you into the diamond shop. On May 20th our group (6) were very disappointed by the lack of really interesting displays and by the patronising audioguide which gave us relatively little helpful information. We paid 10€ each, which we regretted!Philip

Blin blin of course in this museum 🤩. Super friendly staff at the desk, also at the departure, because of the crowds downstairs, we were advised to view the exhibition upstairs first 👍. This exhibition, mainly about snuff boxes, was definitely worth seeing. Permanent exhibition about diamonds and how diamonds are worked and also many silver dishes, cutlery, soup tureen, wine cooler, ... jewelry. There is an elevator, lockers are downstairs.
