Celebrated my birthday there. One word: perfect. The owner is so friendly and lovely on the one hand, on the other hand he is a genius. Each of us had two cocktails and felt like oh my God so THATS a cocktail. Everything til that day was nothing like that. Amazing. And the nuts and olives - yummi. Go there and have a great time.

Best hidden bar in De Pijp and in the city. Leroy serves up the tastiest cocktails and is always so accommodating, plus has a wide selection of jenever and gin. Most reliable place in my neighbourhood - open daily!

One of the best bars i have been to. They advised for drinks based on our preferences and each drinks was spot on. On the first look at the menu the drinks might seem a little pricey but for such high quality drinks its perfectly balanced. For overall hospitality, ambiance, and drinks I would give 6 stars out of 5. Definitely going back again

Hidden away underground on the Ferdinand Bolstraat this cocktail bar has a lovely cozy atmosphere. I very much enjoyed sitting at the bar chatting with bartender Leroy while he created a delicious cocktail based on my drinking preferences.

Amazing slightly hidden place in the Pijp. Excellent service, great cocktails and cozy atmosphere. My departure was a little messy and hence forgot to tip the guys. Still feel bad about it, but will make up for it next time... Cannot recommend this place strongly enough...

This is by far my favorite place in the city for cocktails. Leroy not only makes astonishing drinks (a true experience) but also is one of the most hospitable people I know. On top of that — the place looks amazing. This is the Amsterdam that I remember from when I was young. I wish I could give 6 stars. Cannot recommend this place more.

The owner greeted us and informed us that it would be 10 minutes before he could help us order....it was worth the wait, great ambiance and the cocktails were absolutely out of this world, he came back to check in us and bring us water. Didnt know about the bar until friends told me about a secret cocktail bar. I thought it would be a fancy overpriced tourist scam like the W or something. But when I saw the place I knew it was love on the first side. A cocktail bar made by locals for locals. They guy behind the bar was the best cocktail shaker of the world some years ago, and he still proofs he is one of the best! Best virgin cocktails I ever had.

I was brought here by friends on Friday who had told me great things and I was not disappointed. Really cute and cosy bar, creative and delicious cocktails (and an amazing peach and pear shot!) and incredibly friendly staff who really went above and beyond in creating a lovely experience. Leroy is a great host and the cocktails are great. The atmosphere is a throwback to 90’s Amsterdam and you can order food from the restaurant above. I would highly recommend this hidden gem of a bar.

Great bar - great cocktails and an incredible setting.An underground bar in more ways than one. Almost no sign of a bar outside, except the name on a glass door. Down a staircase (inside a pancake house) and through a thick curtain - unexpectedly opening out into an underground recreation of a Dutch Street scene. Stunning.The owner is a master of the cocktail art and about as helpful and friendly as you can be.A must visit cocktail bar for both a drink and the experience.

This place is PHENOMENAL. Super cool speakeasy that’s hidden downstairs.. Really great cocktail menu and very affordable beer/wine selection. This place embodies ‘gezellig’ with a great bar to chill at or super cozy and intimate booths which feel like a private room. I’m DEFINITELY coming back. Our bartender was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and offered a lot of insight. This is the type of place you want to patronize again and again. They’ve definitely earned it.

Great cocktail bar, amazing service

Visited this place for the first time on a Saturday evening early October. They’ve been around for almost a year, but only now just discovered this “hidden gem” of Cocktail Bars in Amsterdam. These Guys know what they are doing. Had the pleasure of trying one of their signature cocktails and 2 custom-made ones. Especially made and mixed for me. One of these was an Old Fashioned inspired one and the best I have ever had! Wow. The first I started off with was a “Rauwdouwer ( loosely translates to “rough-and-tumble” a dark-‘n-stormy inspired Cocktail with William & George Rum, lime, Thomas Henry ginger beer, kumquat, lime leaf. ) I liked it, but I wonder how this cocktail would have tasted using a darker rum instead (think Mount Gay from Trinidad). The 3rd cocktail was one based on Chartreuse - a French liqueur from the 16th century. This Cocktail deserves a spot on their menu. Exquisite - a complex blend of herbs and citrus-sweet tastes. Who needs dessert?If you like, each cocktail comes with a story. Some history. A modern twist. Bar tenders are very friendly and here for a casual chat or for stories on Amsterdam, Dutch Gon (Jenever) or any other chat if you like. Great modern “speakeasy” hidden Cocktail bar with an undeniable Dutch Amsterdam twist.Boy will we go back here for sure.

Bar Mokum is the kind of bar you think of when visiting Amsterdam. The cocktails are made of world-class quality. Everybody wants to drink cocktails of the highest level in taste and looks, right? well, that is what you get at Bar Mokum.

Such a cool little place with a great vibe, cocktails were just amazing and the super friendly service where we were given time to hear about how the cocktails were made. Also an amazing cheese platter!

Hats down, the BEST bar experience we have had (coming from Paris and Rio de Janeiro with my girlfriend - who is writing this comment because shes the English speaker). The staff is awesome, completely welcoming and they make sure you are at home at all times. Their special drink creations are original, generous, very fairly priced and freaking delicious (!!!) and for that they are worth your attention. Plus the atmosphere is on top (music, lightening and deco). Well be coming back at the 1st chance we get (not being from Amsterdam) and we are only sorry that this bar is not located at our hometown. You guys Rock!!

Although Amsterdam is a major European city, in my eyes, its in shortage of nice bars with great drinks and helpful staff. There a handful of them across town but as of now, there is a new kid in town. Bar Mokum! Conveniently located near De Pijp metro station (6 from Central Station by metro), Leroys (owner) bar offers amazing and creative cocktails (in or out of menu), great music and an inspired interior design. If you want to have a drink now in the place that Amsterdam will be queing up to do so in 6 months, just head to Mokum

Best cocktails Ive had in my life. It can be seen that the manager is keen to make you love his cocktails. He asked us all our tastes and gave us great advice. We loved our first 2 coffee and lemon cocktails. The lemon one gave me the impression of eating a lemon cake it was delicious. Then we had a third cocktail that we let him choose and which was even better. Admittedly, cocktails are not cheap (12.5 € for all) but in other bars it would be 10 € for much worse cocktails. I absolutely recommend !!

Walked in for an espresso martini, but that was the only cocktail that didnt have all the ingredients. Based on our taste, the bartender (who was a really nice guy) made a cocktail that was delicious! We plan to come back more often.

First time we visited Bar Mokum.This is one of those bars that I think the important things are right. So then my review for my doing is also short.The drinks Leroy makes are really good. Leroy also understands some bartending content. Try to make good drinks that match the taste profile of the guest when it comes to the menu. For that you need to be interested in your guest. You feel really welcome at Bar Mokum. For the bartenders at Rum Barrel go in and talk to each other and learn from each other. It is not all that difficultThis is such a bar that should not disappear due to bad economic conditions. So everyone goes to Bar Mokum. Only not on Saturday, September 26, then we will go again. And we do want that there is still a place available at the bar.
