This restaurant is life saviour for indians. I have tried chicken curry and Aloo maatar its just awesome. Foreigners visit generally for samosas👌👌

This is a good place, great service and excellent atmosphere. Unfortunately their food is middling and the portions are modest, which is really a let down, as everything else is terrific.

Nice Indian food

I came across Purna while wandering the streets of Amsterdam one evening & I am so glad I did. I ate there about a month ago and Im still thinking about the delicious tandoori chicken that I had. Indian food is a favorite of mine and Purna was hands down the best Indian Ive ever had in a restaurant. The service was professional, warm, and prompt. The staff convey a family atmosphere, as if youve come to their home to enjoy a meal instead of being in a bustling city. I cant recommend this place enough.

Absolutely amazing Indian restaurant. Staff are very friendly. The naan is made with a proper clay oven which makes a world of difference. Well priced for what you get.

I was quite disappointed with this experience. I saw the good reviews and the restaurant looked so welcoming and cute from the outside with modern furniture and fresh flowers. But inside the decor is outdated and have plastic flowers on the tables. The menu needs a serious refresh as well as the crockery and presentation. The salads were very sad and unappetizing and the other dishes were ok. There are so many cute places in Amsterdam that I would hope they bring their standards up and offer something a bit more fresh.

Delicious Indian Food Preparation.Just remember, when you order any main course dish,such as, chicken curry, it comes with Dal and Rice. Check with your hostess before ordering or you may end up with too much food on your table. You may still be able to finish it as its just amazing.

The taste of the food was disappointing while the prices were quite high. We were looking for a nice traditional Indian restaurant and this was a waste of time and money.

On a personal note I would say that it doesn’t look like a restaurant environment and no proper service. Previous ratings seems just to advertising but fact is any Indian will not visit it for the next time. Disappointing........

Thr food was very delicious and home coked i like it so much

Had a great dinner here with friends. Started with the Lamb kebabs with spicy sauce and hot chicken wings; exactly what we needed after a day of hard work. For mains we had the Chicken Tikka Massala and a lamb curry. Both very tasty and great portions.

Very nice decor and good was great. Many of the dishes have a good amount of spice so be sure to ask if you dont like spicy food.

This is a cosy, family restaurant. Not chik, not posh.. just a heart worming place with super excellant food!

Good Indian restaurant. Prices are normal, in line with those of the city. The portions are right, they are not abundant, the food does not advance, but it certainly satisfies you. The interior and atmosphere are welcoming. In short, we chose it for the excellent Google reviews and we were not disappointed. Lamb is recommended.

The restaurant is intimate, cozy and with a subtle Indian flair. The food fresh, delicious and, as far as I can tell, pretty authentic. The service is really great. Prices are totally okay, main course from € 15.50. Go there and enjoy yourself.

Service does not listen to your order. Food is mediocre to poor and portions are too small for the amount you have to pay. Once but never again!!

A disappointment. We were expecting more than haphazardly tossed salad, poorly baked naan, too salty palak paneer, 90s crockery and uncommitted staff. The mango lassin was good though!

BEWARE!!!! All previous reviews are fake! All from exactly 5 months ago, food and herbs far from being Indian. Chicken tasted raw and undercooked, moisture poured out. When I talked about it she said that it was normal. No compromise could be made and I still had to pay practically everything too. I was so angry and not paid everything !! Never go away, real traitor, every other Indian is tastier !!!

Delicious eaten at Purna, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. I chose the Chicken Saag and this was excellent. The various snacks in advance are definitely recommended, some spicy (but not too) and all tender. Add an Indian beer, what more does a man want.Certainly one of the better Indian restaurants in Amsterdam!

Can not find me in the 2 negative reviews below and have eaten here twice delicious in recent months. Recommended is the lamb specialty. Very friendly service too and will definitely come back again

Have eaten here several times. Very good Tandoori and Curries. No dry chicken fillet but real chicken. The restaurant is my favorite Indian restaurant. Very friendly service. Try the Madras soup and the Hot Chicken wings.

For really tasty Indian food you should definitely have eaten at Purna. The restaurant is run by an Indian family and you notice it in everything. Delicious traditional Indian food and excellent service. Really recommended!
