Feels Like HeavenThe best place to visit in Amritsar. Words cannot describe how beautiful and peaceful Golden Temple really is. It is simply magnificent! You will feel calmness and positive vibes once you are here. It is suggested to visit once in morning and again at night to truly appreciate its beauty. Make sure to cover your head before entering and you can also have free food in the community kitchen. One should definitely come here at least once in his life

Not only because of the beauty of temple but also for gesture of pilgrims.We visited the temple both during day and night time to see it in daylight and in dark.There will always be rush and you need to cover your hairs with cloth irrespective of gender. Dont worry if you have not got one. They will give it for free near entrance which you need to return after you come out.Else it will be sold everywhere outside the temple for 10/-Also, you need to deposit you footwear in the deposit section. They will give a token as reference. Remember, you shouldnt even wear socks as you need to wash your feet before entering in the mild flowing water.When you enter the temple, there will be drinking water facilities every corner and dont worry, they wash the water bowl after every use. The water will be cold always and you can fill it in your bottle too.There is provision for those who wants ro fake bath in the manmade lake. Also, seperate section is made for ladies to bath.Its open 24hrs but at night Darshan will be only till 10.30PM. But Langar seva will be open 24hrs and they serve food with same enthusiasm till your stomach fills.They serve Roti, dal, rice, sabjj, kheer and water. After having food, you can volunteer yourself for seva like making Rotis, dal or washing dishes, cleaning premises etc..When we went, it was Guru Purab day and we didnt expect such long waiting queue. it got us 5hrs to take Darshan of Waheguru.No Photography Allowed inside. You can donate some amount there.on exit, they serve Karah Parshad for everyone. There are many shopping stalls in premises for you to shop.Try visiting both in Day and night time to enjoy the beauty of temple. You can even sleep outside temple provided you have bought your chadar so that when they wake waheguru in morning 2.30, you witness it.

Dont need to say much. Must visited temple for one life time experience. Although it was bit crowded but it was a very peaceful experience. Best to go at night after 2:30 am that time theres a chance it will be empty and you can get a view of the insides peacefully.

The sewa, the ethics and the change happens in people after coming here is beyond anything. Once in a life one must visit this place.

You have bags and shoe rooms free of cost. Also the hotels nearby are from Rs 500- 2000.Gurudwara opens at 2:45am. Langar and Inside temple area is accessible 24/7.You can also offer seva at the langar place serving good and washing utensils.

This was my second time there and again a beautiful experience. Vibe of the place is so peaceful. If wants to go inside one may have to stand in que for 1 to 2 hours but when enter it worth the wait. Having langar there was another great experience. If possible go in the evening as place looks stunning. One can find lots of snacks near the temple and for people who love to shop lots of options are there specially fulkari dupatta and punjabi juttis are great there.

You should go there once in your life. You will feel like you are in heaven. Peoples are very kind and very humble. Peace of mind and feels very relaxed. Looks very amezing in night light condition.

This place is soulfull , can spend hours sitting near sarovar sahib. I visited there on 2nd oct. There was huge cowd that i couldnt be able to went inside the darbar sahib. So, i visited next day again in the morning and managed to went inside darbar sahib after 3 hr of qeue. Overall i love this place so must. Everyone must visit there once in a life. The view of darbar sahib at night time is so amazing, i cant descibe that beauty in words.Recomendation- dont visit there on satuday , sunday and during public holidays.

Golden temple always amazes me. The perfect management about every thing is a great management lesson.During this visit, I was part of a big group. We were blessed to have food at the Langar. With thousands of other devotees waiting, there was no hurry or chaos about anything. One by one all devotees entered the Langar hall, were served and blessed with simple yet divine food.

There are no words to describe the beauty and faith people have for this place. 24 hrs langar they provide to everyone who wants to eat is remarkable. Amazing management. I would really like to appreciate that it the only gender equal and friendly place I found in India so far. Rules to cover knees and shoulders are there for all genders. There is no restriction in any part of temple where men can go and women cant. And surprisingly the crowd is well behaved, usually some people take advantage of female crowd even at holy places. But that was not the case here.

Huge crowd when I visited on Sunday which is obvious. The temple looks marvelous during night. Great place where everything is organised quite well. People are calm and service with good heart. Langar is served 24hrs

My name is Harish Kumar and I went to Amritsar last week for some work with my friends, we reached there by train, after finishing our work there, we all thought of traveling to Amritsar. There we all thought of going to the Golden Temple and then we all reached there.There we got all kinds of facilities, it was absolutely free for the devotees to take bath there and other necessary facilities. Then take a bath in us and visit the Golden Temple. We spent half the day there and in the evening after eating langar prasad, we left for our home.

The spiritual experience at Harimandar Sahib is beyond words.

Best religious place to visit when in Amritsar. Best time to visit is at night (for the lighting) or early morning (4-5 oclock, to avoid crowd). Always crowded, but if climate supports, even the waiting time is lovley. Very scenic place. Continuous seva performed by devotees. Shoes racks on left side of entrance for no cost with a token to take them back. Lake adds up heavy bonus points to the scenery. Fishes can be seen even at night in the lake. Rules are to be adhered in the premises (cover head, not to put feet in water if not bathing, to spread hands for roti when in langar).
