This restaurant was top on my list when I dream to visit amritsar but all I got disappointment. Reason lack of crowd n there famous lahori dal was bland. Moreover, it is situated on opposite lane when you return from border side . You have to get back taking you turn in evening. I know owner had also noticed this . Most of the tourists wont go for you turn. Hope my opinion will make some difference. Follow hungarymotto_pb10 on zomato and Instagram for more details.
Four stars for the ambience. On your left 2 km ahead of the Atari border. On Sunday afternoon, we were advised to be at the border by 3 pm so as to get a good place to sit. Accordingly started at around 1 pm from near Amritsar station; it took us 30-35 minutes to reach Sarhad.Well decorated. Food is above average, but not the best. Around the time we reached, crowd was just getting heavier. May need to wait for 10 min or so to get a table, depending on the size of the group. We managed to finish lunch and start for the border at around 3.Overall, pleasant experience.
If you visit this restaurant, it is certainly not for the food which tends to be marginal. Instead, enjoy the artwork that abounds this landmark restaurant. The management however was accommodating to our requests with it small baby and toddler. The restrooms are very clean.Must visit - if only for the artistic value - youre already there right? :-)
Sarhad is on NH- 1. It lies just meters before Attari- wagah border. It is the last restaurant on Indo Pak border. It offers authentic Amritsari- Lahori cuisine. We visited because of OMG recommendation. The decor and ambience is good. Washroom were clean.Must order Railway Cutlet & chutney, Sarhad paneer seekh and Lahori falsa soda.It is must go place. Please do visit!
Nice place. Great ambience. Loved it. The food was good too but a little bit expensive probably because of the location. Can improve their bar and service a tiny bit which explains the lack of a star in a review that otherwise deserved 5-stars. Summing up, I loved the experience and definitely a good getaway from the busy city!! Great combination of two cultures indo and pak

Indo Pakistani Cuisine at its best

Overrated and overpriced restaurant. The service quality was very poor as well as slow. They hardly care about their guests. It took them 15 minutes to get a waiter to us. And then another 30-40 minutes for the food to reach us. After that also, no waiter could be seen attending any of the guests. We ordered vegetarian food, which was also below average and too expensive. Cant comment on non-vegetarian food though.
Sarhad is a very good restaurant just before the Wagah border. We left Amritsar at 3PM and every one was feeling hungry. Driver told us that we can have lunch on the way to Wagah. The restaurant is nicely planned, informative about India and Pakistan CULTURE. The food was tasty, specially the Mia เคเฅ dal. The owner has spent good amount of planning and executing the decor and food menu. We were not expecting such nice place away from the city.
Visited on 16th August 2018Perhaps it has lost the energy with which it might have been promoted initially and received coverage.Food didnt taste as great. The place looked deserted. Infra was average. Service was ok. Staff didnt engage. Rates are high.Emotional concept. Not sustaining it some how.Didnt find it anywhere close to what has been published in various articles.
We three friends decided to break the monotony of work and discover the territory of Amritsar on two wheels. So, we got onto our bikes to tour out to a place that offers solace. Our bikes sped through the arms of nature on NH-1, sight of army campuses and intense feeling that we are near to the border; our parted brother Pakistan. Away from the din and bustle of the city life, tractors toiling the soil, cows grazing the lush green fields. A feeling of nostalgia aroused while passing through the villages and verdant fields. Finally we reached the place โ Sarhadโ. Parked our bikes at the gate and viewed the beauty of the place. The whole arena has been crafted on a theme of brick style giving a tinge of old Punjab along with uniqueness accompanied by a large lawn wherein beautiful lights and flower pots elegantly rowed along the sidewalk is a delight to the eyes. Ambling through the pathway, the beautiful colourful vans kept at the side of the pathway symbolical to Pakistani Truck Art having elaborated floral designs captivates oneโs attention making it difficult to move forward without embracing these beautiful artefacts.Adoring the peacefulness of the place, further we sauntered down the pathway to the open floor/ verandah providing plenty of dining space for a large family to come and visit the place on a sunny day in winters paving way to the indoor restaurant.Beautifully laid down seating with an open kitchen offers a view of the whole place till the entrance and sight of the passing army trucks enthralls one to the core. As we seated and cherished the ambiance; beautifully arranged countertop with books on the olden era and partition , toy trucks with truck art representing vibrancy of Pakistan. Below the countertop, paintings depicting romances of old and popular Punjab; Heer- Ranjha, Sohni- Mahiwal, Sassi- Punnun, Sahiba- Mirza telling the tragic love story is worth embracing and for taking a deep thought over the heartrending folklore tales. Every pillar inside the restaurant has photographs chronicling the stories of friendship of India & Pakistan and the visits made by personalities is indeed riveting. While we adored the ambiance of the place, we were served with cuisines emanating from Lahore & Amritsari Kitchen beautifully plated, the sight of which can take you to the another world.I must say that ambience and built of the restaurant justifies its name. After satiating our craving for cuisines mentioned in the menu card, we moved out of the dining area and entered the adjacent building with glass gates, floored with beautiful tiles and classical and artsy seating housing vibrant Pakistani Suits. As itโs not only the music thatโs always needed, peace and talk with friends is equally needed to comfort your soul and the place fits into the criteria. โSarhadโ qualifies as an destination restaurant. Finally we savored tea and biscuits with an evening laughter in the fading sunlight as the sun was going to rest spreading its last crimson rays and it was time to bid adieu.
Good food. Also host open air dining. Situated very close to the border. They also have two small mini trucks replicating Pakistani transport and friendship logos of the two country. Inside they also have wooden trucks for sale which are made in Pakistan and are bought from there. A set of 2 trucks for one 5000. Wooden show pieces only. Ussually people stop here for a quick bite before visiting the wagah border. 2 kms from border.
Sarhad is a beautiful restaurant with great food and an even greater thought. It is on your way to attari border. A must visit for lunch before you visit the attari border is highly recommended. It brings together two different cuisines from two different countries, India and Pakistan.. we enjoyed whatever we ate. There are posters from different newspapers of the times pre partition displayed out of the restaurant. The paintings in the restaurant are made by a famous Pakistani artist. It is a must visit . Also do carry cash along as sometimes the ATM machine tends not to work. It also had very neat toilets.
Not able to reach till border...
Nice food just by the India-Pakistan border. Supports local artists
I saw your Pics in Google Maps, I live in Lahore but wish one day, I will be able to eat at your restaurant and there will be unbounded Friendship between our countries
Food was nicePeople working there were politeI went late in d evening so dats y there was no rushJust 1 km before ATTARI JCP
Nice place... To chear you up... It brings out the Indian in you
Very good food. Tastefully done true dhaba experience. Mostly people stop here before heading out to the wagah border for a quick bite. Must visit. Clean toilets and good service
Taste just ok
I felt very proud to be an Indian when I was saw Prade of BSF Jawans.
Food is good fast service, clean toilets, 1 km before to Attari Wagha border but they are charging service charges in bill
Not very amazing food. But the only decent restaurant we could find on the way to the border.. Rest all were local dhabas.
Read many positive reviews about this place and thought it would be a good pit stop en-route Wagah. The place seems like an outhouse. Poor seating, tasteless unhygienic food with flies all around and dirty toilets. The place is an amalgamation of all vices of India and Pakistan. We lost appetite seeing the food. Ordered a tea, the milk seemed spoiled and the tea had a peculiar stench had to send it back. Never ever again!!
Nice place . It is very creative as you can see it as a combo of India and Pakistans style. Colourful trucks in pakistan are special which are depicted well here
Nice place
First time eating here, amazing food! And I am very picky about what I eat. Staff was friendly and the service was good. Food was prepared well and hot. Recommend it to anyone who comes around this area
Superb place.. full of energyjai hind
Highly overrated. We are paying for the brand name and not for the quality or quantity of food. Their famous chicken biriyani which cost around 500 Rs is nothing but a hype. Neither the portion size is enough for one person nor the taste is enough to satisfy ur taste buds... To be honest once i had experienced a tasty chicken biriyani some 7 months back which was good... Anyway, try the restaurant just for ambience not for quality food..
Lahori Thali is worth trying!
Nice place. Great ambience. Loved it. The food was good too but a little bit expensive probably because of the location. This restaurant takes GST plus service charges both that is illegal in India, no other restaurant claims it after GST implementation.
Good place
Village near Wagha Border.
Food Quality is Awesome, staffs are friendly in nature, location is good. Me along with my family & friends are visited Sarhad in the evening & we felt some more lighting require in front of the Sarhad Restaurant....My recommendation is to visit once during your visit to the Wagah Border, Amritsar...
The restaurant is currently shut since Attari is shut post covid
Nice clean place. We liked the Pakistani food on the menu. They also have a boutique with Pakistani traditional suits for ladies.
Famous place of Amritsar, Every tourist came here to taste the deliciousness of both Countries. Yummmm foood
Always feel proud at this place
Very clean and washrooms facilities are top notch. But food is expensive. If you consider the overall ambiance and food quality, I guess not bad for 1 visit if your are to border ceremony, its just 5min drive away.
It was an amazing experience also food service was excellent specially the tandoor items everyone visiting there should try that. The staff were approachable Everytime. Will love to come back
Tasty food and good place to hang out with friends.
A very good restaurant with nice views and food on way to border. The place is very nicely constructed and maintained
Assume
Awesome experience.Every Indian should really visit Attari village and see the Pakistan From Indian village. This is the last hotel of India before Pakistan.Very well maintained and ambience just like a contemporary era.As the name itself suggests its the last hotel near to Pakistan. Pakistan is just 3km from here.
Good place but not maintained properly. Flies were everywhere. No music played. Dont be victim of poor management.
Be more professional
Iconic restaurant/dhaba. Described as the last commercial place before the border. Food is awesome.
Food price are a bit high, overall not best but good
Its definitely not worth the Hype! There are some other really good dhabas on he way try those. Sarhad was overpriced food was mediocre not great. Even the decor is mediocre. I would not recommend Sarhad its an absolute waste of money
Good if you want to have lunch/ dinner. Donโt expect too much if they have Pakistani apparels and all. The store is like defunct. No good shopping. Only restaurant is good specially non- vegetarian preparations.
This is a nice eatery while going to Attari border... Great food and service
Tremendous atmosphere,
U need a security clearance before visit
Ok place..nice ambience....way too costly as comapre to food quality, taste and freshness....
Its good place to eat before or after visiting wagha border
It is on the way to Attari Border. So relatively decent place to stop and have food. I just wish the food also had been decent enough. The quality is no match to the prices. The mutton dish that we ordered was with absolutely thin gravy and the mutton was all chewy thing around the bone. Hardly any meat in that. The yellow dal was ok and we had to finish it off like soup.
Hopeless food and service they dont care about quality. Not recommended guys
Great initiative on the Border
Excellent place near to India Pakistan borderBut you enjoy a lot after Evening
If you are going to wagha border then definitely visit this place for having authentic food
Amazing mutton biryani.
I see this restaurant when I was watching OMG! Ye mera IndiaI think it would be very auspiciousActually, I want to go there
Good Place Good Taste. Price of some dishes were bit high than normal. Overall a very nice place to have good food with family.
In my view people planning to visit Attari Border Ceremony should ideally plan lunch at Sarhad which is closer to the border, hence gives you the flexibility to plan out the time to reach the border. Further food is really good with lot of non veg on the offering.โ๏ธ
Writing the review before tasting the food. It took 30 minutes to order and waiting since 30 minutes after order placement. Super duper slow. The restaurant staff is hard of hearing, seems it has Pakistani effect.
Good restaurant and good food at bagha border. Amazing feeling at Pakistan border. Good service good food. Price is reasonable.
Its nesr Attari border and comes in the category of expensive restaurants. We ordered Murgh tikka kebab and they were good.
Very expensive but poor quality food. Service is pathetic. After order they took one hour to serve. Thosevwho r visiting retreat ceremony better to avoid as service is slow. Not worth for the price.
Bad for much slow service and bad for food quality
Nice place near wagah border. Museum is worth watching. All snacks were very fresh and tasty.
Try for the kebabs
Honestly..food doesnt taste much..but yes few items like peshwari naan u can try because its different and u will not find in any other place of India. Lahori chapali kebab is also good but rest of other items sucks as nalli gosht and chiicken is below average. Much better food u can find in Kolkata. 3 star rating is enough for such place . Service too is slow. I dont find interesting and nothing new in this place.
Good place, good food, but bit costly quantity is not worth the cost, one time visit place.Lack of staff and no one to attend to you properly.
Good driver and good facilities and good communication and comfortable journey
Lovely ambience and great food. Chicken tikka , alu , dal, jeera rice is finger licking
Ambience is the strongest part of this restaurant, parking space is ample, we only had a cup of tea so saying anything about the food is not of any use, a bit on higher side in price. Altogether a nice place. After having a meal over there rating might get change.
Over priced menu n late service
