It is very beautiful.This was the house of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.Belongings of the founder are preserved here. This place gives detailed and additional information about our founder. It is really very beautiful and also contains old memories. It has a beautiful cherry blossom tree which is very famous. People come to click their pictures near the tree and of the tree. It is so beautiful and clean. It has a masjid and beautiful gardens. Not only me but every one would be in love with this place. It has museums in which the Personal effects of Sir Syed kept in this section for display are a major attraction of the Academy. Besides, there are three galleries. The first gallery aims at providing an introductory glimpse into the life and times of Sir Syed and his associates. The second gallery tells through its exhibits the story of the various phases of the M.A.O. College. The third gallery presents a brief history of Aligarh Muslim University. It has archives too.Sir Syed House lay in a dilapidated condition till it was fully renovated and restored to its original grandeur in the early 1970s.

That place is not of a museum but more of a history of AMUs people. They dont have a lot of old things, but many books, photos, of older people of AMU. Nice to visit, if you are attracted to the garden there. In winter, it should be a very good place to have a talk with your loved ones.

Beautiful mosque near Sir Syed House and adjacent to K.A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies... It looks big from outside but its capacity is not that much...

This is really peacefully place, and very beautiful masque, must visit to this place.

One of fav mosques in Amu , It looks like a mini version of Jama Masjid . Recently , it has been renovated . Almost everything inside has changed infact the Mosque is now Air Conditioned. It is a must visit if you are coming to see thr beauty of Amu. My suggestion would be to add an opening from the RCA -Management Faculty side so that students can offer salah easily and would have to walk 150 meters instead of 1.5 Km .

Its a very beautiful place and a musium also which contains apparatus and other things of founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

A pleasant place with the perfect combination of epic architecture and greenery. The House, which was occupied by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan( originally  a military mess) for more than two decades, is now the location of  Sir Syed Academy. It was purchased by Syed Mahmud in 1876 for the residence of his father.  Sir Ross Masud used it as the Vice Chancellors residence. It was also used as annexie of Sir Syed Hall.  As a tribute to the founder, the house was  renovated and  converted  into a Sir Syed  memorial in the early seventies. The Sir Syed Academy was formally  inaugurated on 22nd October, 1974. Since its inception the Academy is instrumental in generating  an awareness and understanding among its visitors and Aligarh fraternity about the tremendous contribution, which Sir Syed Ahmad khan has made in the educational, technological, social and cultural development. The Academy  rightly highlights the  efforts taken up   by  Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in promoting the  noble cause of nation building.

This is a very good place sharing all the historic information related to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

Good Environment

Very beutiful place and probably one the best place in AMU for photoshoot. The mosque here is also very attractive with a nice dome and best from its architecture. I visit here for prayer every Friday. This house was once a military base and now this is Sir Syed House .

Originally a military mess, Sir Syed House was purchased by Syed Mahmood in 1876 as Sir Syeds residence. It came to be known as English House (a boarding house for school students) from 1903 to 1928. On 19 October 1929 when Sir Syeds grandson Sir Ross Masood became the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, it served as the vice-chancellors residence until 1938. From 1947 to 1957 it remained with the Custodian. in 1964, it was restored to the University. It was reconstructed on the same foundation in 1972 and now houses the Sir Syed Academy.
