It was named after Sir Shah Muhammad Sulaiman, the first Indian Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court and former Vice Chancellor of the University. It occupies a premier location in Aligarh Muslim University Campus, It is one of the largest halls of the university.At present, it accommodates approx. 650 Students of undergraduate, post graduate as well as research scholars of Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology. It was established in 1802 by a French Colonist. It stands today as one of the oldest architectural example of the University.

The capacity is somewhere around 700 to 800...It is usually offered to the students belonging to the faculty of Engineering and Technology..There are seven hostels, with different accommodation facilities.. Along with this, it also provides ample recreational facilities to its residents in the form of a Cricket ground, a Basketball court, a Volleyball court, a shared Football/Hockey ground, 6 Badminton courts, a central lawn, a common room with TV, a Billiards Board, two Table Tennis tables, Carrom boards etc and also has a Reading Room and a Canteen.One of the unique and best thing about this Hall is its prime location. Very nice place to stay AMU students but you should be internal if you want good room or single bed or double bed room.

Sir Shah Muhammad Sulaiman (3 February 1886 – 12 March 1941) (popularly known as Sir Shah Sulaiman or Sir Sulaiman) was the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court from 16 March 1932 to 30 September 1937 and was the first Indian and one of the youngest to hold the post. Sulaiman was the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University from 1938 to 1941. The Sir Shah Sulaiman Hall of the University is named after him.He was buried at Nizamuddin Dargah by the side of Amir Khusrow. Sir Shah Sulaiman Road, named after him, is a large road in Karachi that runs from the East wall of National Stadium, Karachi up to Government College for Men Nazimabad.

This is a Hall for AMU engineering students. Its very neat and clean, calm and quite. Its a very large hall and having six hostel. I feel very comfortable here. Its best place for stay after my home

It is in close proximity with a lot of departments and library, since it is located within the campusThe food and the rooms are not very good.There is lot of greenery inside the hall, and space for different sports and other recreational activities

The rooms in this hall are good but the toilets and bathrooms are dirty.The dining hall does offer variety but not cleanliness and quality.The taste of food is just average and not satisfactory.The entire hall is surrounded by greenery and has sports facilities and reading room as well as common room.
