This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation they have buffets that are amazing so much stuff to choose from, wide wine list and wonderful desserts. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

Love this place! The decor inside really puts you in the mood for some good Indian food. As soon as you walk in the spices hit your nose. The place seems a bit small from the outside but once you go inside it is very roomy and seating is very roomy. The buffet has a lot of options, I’ve noticed on the weekends there is a bigger selection for dinner atleast. Nonetheless the food is amazing the I will be back!!

I was visiting New Mexico, Albuquerque from Dallas and I definitely didn’t think there would be any Indian restaurants in New Mexico since I’ve never been! My first stop was Taj Mahal Indian restaurant I had high expectations but the food was ok nothing special the interior was so and so. I hadn’t gave up on my Indian food hunt just yet, I found Taaj Palace Indian restaurant and I was glad I did. The food AMAZING the interior was very welcoming and I Especially loved the shiny granite tables! There buffet also has a nice selection. One downfall was it was a bit too cold but other than will define back!

Great authentic aromas and friendly faces. Buffet is 12.99 and there are a variety of dishes you can try. In the front door you will find a selection of products and clothing items. Must come and try lunch buffet!

Happy to support a local business as our experience with Taaj Palace was exceptional! The owners have taken every step to ensure cleanliness to include hand sanitizers on the tables. We went when they offered a buffet...yes a buffet! There was quite a variety of dishes and all the food was piping hot, fresh and delicious! The staff and owner were friendly and very welcoming. We will definitely be back!!

I have eaten in many indian restaurants and this is one of the best I have tried. We booked for nine but could arrive until ten (having rung to rearrange) - it was not problem, nothing was too much trouble! The service was very friendly and efficient, easily coping with our large party of 12. Food arrived piping hot and in good time. The menu contains a good number of house specialities which are a cut above the normal menu offerings. I tried one of these and it was delicious. The restuarant was clean - could do with some redecoration but this was nothing serious.

Lunch buffet was ok, choice of veg and non-veg was limited but taste was good. I wished to at least 2-3 appetizer options. Place may look small from outside but ample seating place inside

I would give them zero stars if possible. No hints of professionalism and neither good customer service. We drove 2 hours to get to this restaurant looking at their good reviews. Ended up knowing they don’t have dine in although it is mentioned in their google profile and their own website which mentions open for dine in on the reformed covid rules for dine in. We didn’t have any time to go to other place so we did the takeout. After getting the food we found this plastic thing in one of the biriyani. Took it inside the restaurant, the cashier mentioned the restaurant doesn’t have anything plastic of that sort.(FYI we weren’t looking for free food if he thought so). Then another older guy came in and said it was plastic from gallon of milk and that was it. They weren’t apologetic, neither wanted to take the food back so we just dumped everything on the trash outside of their restaurant. Worst experience ever. Wouldn’t ever suggest anyone to go here.

Food was good. There were customers not wearing masks at the buffet and one of the employees was also walking around checking tables without one. I probably wont be back till the pandemic is over to try it again.

Oh My Gosh, If you are looking for flavorful Indian food this is the place. Their chicken tikka masala was to die for. I was only able to get through two plates of their dinner buffet before I was overcome by the delicious, earthy, goodness of their delicious Indian cuisine. This is a must-try spot!

I generally avoid Buffets but I love Indian food. I had no idea if this place was going to be a buffet only place and it was. I was seated and had no idea I shouldve gone to the buffet, so if youre wondering, I hope this review helps you. You also pay at the counter.Cant say I truly enjoyed it, it was Indian food, but not my favorite. For the price though its good. Also, if you order a tea for $2.50 you get a small cup of hot water and a choice of flavored bagged tea. Its not going to be a nice teapot with any sort of loose leaf tea.

We were travelling in Albuquerque, we love Indian dishes over any other cuisine and visited this place with our 3 yrs old daughter . She usually doesnt eat outside that much, in short picky eater. But she loved the buffet here.Me and my husband loved all the dishes. I usually dont like chicken Tikka because to me they smells. But I loved it here. We enjoyed each and every dishes .Please try their chiken biryani. I had the best biriyani ever.

Holy moly! Super delicious. It would have been five stars except that they didnt receive the order I initially placed online. Still, not a long wait and the food is great. I ordered the ghost-pepper Phall Curry with goat. Its WAY too hot for the normal person which is perfect! Thank you Taaj Palace for providing such great cuisine and for not holding back on the spice. I had been really wanting some good Indian food but since my favorite one as a kid had since closed, I figure all was lost. But my significant other mentioned to just give it a shot. So I ordered all my favorites Id pile onto my plate as a child, the smell driving home was absolutely amazing, and the food was even better. My new favorite restaurant. The guy who answered was more then helpful to take my order even though it was ten minutes until they were closing for lunch. Also was kind enough to bring out a side of rice is forgotten. Awesome place, cant wait until the buffet opens back up, Ill be there! But if like me you were hesitant to try a new place, this is the place to do it at. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.

Took my wife and my kids and the buffet teas absolutely amazing. My two boys love the buffet here and me and my wife love ordering the lamb seekh kebabs! It’s so entertaining to watch the sizzling plate arrive at your table!

Speaking for take-out, the food is great. I have a feeling the one-star reviews are fake (2 hours drive for a random Indian restaurant in ABQ???) . The comments saying the food has no flavor dont add up. The food is full of flavor!Weve ordered here several times and never been disappointed. Saag paneer, butter chicken, cauliflower chicken, all excellent. The garlic naan is a nice addition too, though not very thick.One warning, even the Medium spice is quite spicy. I cant imagine what full spiciness is like! Unless you really like it hot, Id recommend ordering mild and using the chutney to spice it up. Or keep a lot of yogurt on hand to cool your mouth. The raitha is tasty, though it uses a very sour yogurt and may not be to everyones liking. Its also a bit too watery to be truly cooling.Ive never actually been in the restaurant, so I cant comment on that, but for take-out its a winner!

The East Indian buffet Taj Palace is one of the best in Albuquerque and it is available from lunch through dinner. The vegetarian section is nicely separated from the section with meat dishes. They have my favorite saag paneer on a buffet and their dessert options are undeniably the best on any India buffet I have ever seen. There is a great wine selection here too.

I love Taaj Palace. In my opinion they have the best Indian food in the 505. The spice level on all of their dishes is perfect! They hit that savory / spicy taste better than any other Indian restaurants I have tried around town. All of the ingredients taste fresh like homemade. The prices are a little bit high, but the portion sizes are huge and are plenty for two people to share.

My friend had this food delivered in March. We just looked at where it was from today to make sure we never order from here again. We both havent eaten Indian food since March because of the terrible food poisoning we got from this place. We both threw up and had violent diarrhea the morning after eating this food. NEVER AGAIN!

Tried on a recommendation. Not good at all. Nothing seemed like it was made fresh. Tasted like prepackaged meal. Generally love Chicken Tikka Masala but this was the worst ever! Taaj Palace serves up all sorts of tasty Indian dishes, ranging from the classics like tandoori chicken to butter chicken curry, to some other dishes that you may have never had or heard of. Its all good, all delicious. The butter chicken is the best Ive had in over a decade, super creamy and just perfect. The garlic naan is a perfect side to whatever you get. Everytime I go I try something new and Im never disappointed.

My first time on this kind of cuisine, it was good.its a buffet. Didnt taste like cheap food. Only thing is price, 2 people 1 tea, $30

This place is amaaaaazing!First if all everyone is super nice, the owner the staff literally everyone. They have this delicious buffet that is super reasonably priced. Now the food, OMG, this is possibly the most delicious Indian cuisine ever! Super clean, service is amazing, they are always refilling your drinks....the only bad thing is that they cannot be open due to Covid. You will not be sorry!!

We got takeout for a party of 8. It was great! They had big tubs of food so we could have their buffet at home. They were extremely organized and the food was as delicious as ever. I am a huge fan of the butter chicken. Many of my friends like the saag paneer. The kids and adults love the vegetable pakora. I am excited to be fully vaccinated so I feel comfortable enough to go eat in the restaurant.

Very disappointed with Biryani.We went here to have some biryani and what we got is near to sambar rice. When I asked the owner he said that they Made it in their own receipe. Really disappointed, if it is their own recipe then they should have their own name not as biryani.

I’m from San Diego and I was in Albuquerque for a job and when I was craving some Indian food I searched it up on google and drove to taaj palace. The food was really good not as good as San Diego but it was close to what I could find that was similar to back home!

I don’t think any indian will ever like the food. The biryani tasted really bad it was just dal rice mixed with chicken curry. They don’t give you raita with biryani and when asked they gave me the yogurt which went bad. The order came out wrong.The gobi Manchurian was awful. The prices were really high and i don’t recommend any indian food lovers to go here.

I was hungry went to this place today. The food was so bad at the buffet. This is why sometimes indian food is underrated. Bad service. The food tastes bad. Not worth at all. Not atleast one item was good. Unhygienic too. Zero stars if possible.

Weve ordered take away from Taaj Palace and the food is always outstanding. Best Indian food in ABQ. Tonight Taaj Palace went above and beyond on our takeaway order - When we informed them that they accidentally left out our order of Saag Paneer, they had one of their employees drive 20 miles to our home to deliver it without charge. And they threw in a yogurt treat as well! Great food great service. Bravo.

This is one of my favorite places in town and the only one that will lure me out of quarantine and back to an in person dining experience. The buffet is packed full of delicious foods and it’s great quality for the price. I’m a fan of it all, even the vegan and vegetarian options as the spices and sauces make everything delicious. Excellent customer service and a great overall dining experience make this a spot I could visit once a week! Highly recommend!

Today we placed a take out order and they really out did themselves.The vindaloo is spicy & flavorful, the korma is aromatic & perfectly spiced, and the chicken kadai? Oh, that one, that one is life changing.The garlic naan is a must.When they are open for sit down dining, I love their buffet option. So many choices!The owners and staff are extremely friendly and always happy to see you.Their decor is authentic and makes a dine-in experience a pleasure.This is the best Indian food in town.10 out of 10 would recommend!

The worst biryani Ive ever eaten in my life. They dont know how to make a biryani. They charged me $43 for 2 plates of Fish Biryani and gave such small quantity. The biryani was just basically white rice mixed with curry and added extra raisins, capsicum, onions and potatoes. There was hardly any fish in there.

Pretty standard food. Not a lot at variety and hard naan. My fiance was not impressed because the tandoori chicken was very dry. I felt like they redeemed themselves with tasty lamb vindaloo. Overall 3 stars because if you lack variety then you have to be top notch and it just wasnt.

Wouldn’t ever visit this restaurant again. They’ve lost my business after the food I had today. Worst biriyani ever had in my life. The chicken was undercooked and they had a plastic cooked with biriyani on my friend’s order. When we took the issue to front desk, they just seemed not to care at all. Never would suggest anyone to take out or dine in here.

This is the first time I’ve been to Taaj Palace. As I entered the door the aromas were wonderful. I ordered Vindaloo curry chicken, Tikka Masala curry chicken 7 hot scale and Butter chicken. Naan bread.Each curry dish came with a delicious side of jasmine rice. The chicken was very tender and moist and very delicious in each dish.If you like it hot the vindaloo is perfect heat for me and wife and was our favorite. It’s making me hungry just writing about it. Tikka Masala curry chicken was very nice. It starts with a sweet flavor and finishes with a Chile flavor and heat. I ordered 7 out of mild 1- 10 hot scale.For those who don’t like any heat the Butter chicken is a very good dish tasty dish. Being from NM I prefer the spicy hot flavor Paul uses in his delicacies.The service was excellent. Well Done Paul!(I only post reviews if they are a 5 star review)

Everything was delicious, fresh and plentiful!We didnt try the buffet as it was late, but it did seem they had quite the selection and that they were keeping the food fresh. Watching them tear down the setup showed us they care about quality and cleanliness, which is always a good thing!I cant suggest this place enough. Give it a try. You will be happy you did. I had the Buffett. The food was very good. They kept the spices under control...not too hot to enjoy. They do need to take more care prepping meets as I encountered several bone pieces and chicken joints as well as a piece of metal possibly from a scouring brush.

I was traveling from the east coast to west and I made a stop here to pick up take out. I ordered the goat Briyani, chicken vindaloo, garlic naan, and the Kashmiri naan. The briyani was something new to me it was made a different way but nonetheless it tasted fantastic! Chicken vindaloo was delicious, and the breads were tasty.

I wish I could give a negative rating for this. We ordered chicken biryani and chicken pakoda. It’s the worst biryani I had in a long time. Not sure how they could even call it a biryani (It’s just white rice mixed with some chicken curry, veggies and ginger). And chicken pakoda is nothing but chicken nuggets (with Indian flavor). Save your bucks by not visiting this place

I absolutely love Taaj Palace - the prices can feel a little steep, but the Chicken Tikka and Saag Paneer are the best Ive ever found in New Mexico and well worth the price! When the buffet is up and running, the selection is always interesting and the food extremely filling. Planning on getting more Tikka soon when I have the funds, I want to give thanks to the cooks!

I really dont know where some of the negative review for this place are coming from. The food that they serve here is so good it almost broke me. I cant look at another indian restaurant without my stomach feeling a bit of hesitation that Im not taking it to Taaj Palace.Ive never had an issue dining at the buffet (seriously the best option) or having this delicious mouth watering food delivered to me. Its a treat that my wife and I savor whenever we get the chance to eat it.Do yourself a favor - try it. Theyre Butter Chicken is otherworldly.

Went there for lunch on Dec 31 2019. We were there by 2:15PM but they said kitchen is closed (2:30 PM closing time they said even though it does not say on Google listings, other restaurants on Google said closing at 2:30, so drove 10 miles to get to this one)and only Buffet available. Half way through the buffet they were out of naans and had only one rice item. The taste was not fresh cooked food. During payment they charged 15 per person saying cost increase because of Christmas and holidays. Food was like from yesterday. I would have been more satisfied with a left over frozen pizza slice from 2 days ago. The waiter was very curt. On the whole left with a bad taste, half empty stomach and with the feeling of being swindled. No points for guessing if I am going to try this one again.

This place has the best food ever! Everything they serve is delicious and fresh. The staff are very friendly and always on top of things such as taking dishes, refilling drinks and checking food at the buffet. This is real authentic Indian food and this place should have a higher rating.
