I visited this place during my trip to Ahmedabad and it made me feel as if I was living in the era of pre independence. This place is situated in the Moti Shahi Mahal built by the mughals. The ground floor of the museum is totally dedicated to Sardar Patel. It displays many of his personal items and many replicas are built inside which depict his life story, like the prison cell where he stayed or his study, etc.The first floor has many rooms, each carrying a different theme. It has a room dedicated to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore as he had spent some of his days here writing one of his books. The palace is surrounded by a beautiful garden and we get to spot peacocks, monkeys, squirrels and many other birds. We also attended an audio visual programme which documented the life of Sardar Patel.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial gives us insights about the great leader. This place is easily approachable, your cab/ taxi will leave you just outside the main gate. Green lush garden on both side of entrance. On the left side there is ticket counter which have very nominal charges. I have observed a small cafe in front of ticket counter and prices were pretty decent. But I was more excited to visit inside of the museum. There are 6-7 steps to the main entrance . First we enter the ground floor and then go to the second story which has elevator along with steps. The place itself looks very grand. The museum is further divided into small rooms and hallways. Every room gives us a different insights about the life of Sardar Ji. In hallway there are some places which need some repair work. After completing the inside tour when we come out to the main entrance. There is a statue of Sardar Patel and united India on on side and different places under princely states on the other side. This whole picture is enough to witness his endeavours and defines why he was called The Iron Man of India.

One of the best museum of national interest. Very quiet and peaceful place. The light and sound show is very good depicting the process of uniting the Indian nation under one Flag tricolor and how it became the the Republic of India. Its also very informative about the history of freedom of India. The museum building has great history from the time of Mughal. You can visit this place with your family and friends.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial is a museum dedicated to the memory of Sardar Patel. The structure itself was once a palace built by Shah Jahan, Moti Shahi Mahal. Later, during the British rule it was converted into a cantonment area for them which housed the senior officials of the Company.

You can visit the musium between9.30am–5pmand 3D show 7–7.45pm (Mon closed)This musium displayed everything possible about Sardar Patel. The musium is excellent piece of state of art modern technology based museum. It allows us to hear old speeches of the leader preserved digitally. The news papers from that times are also digitally preserved. The white and red façade of the building is well maintained and is surrounded by a manicured lawn. There is a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel outside the building on the lawn. Another statue that will mesmerize you and take you down the memory lanes of the history of India is the one where Sardar Patel can be seen sitting with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi. The three legends appear deep in a conversation and the likeness of the statue to these dignitaries is quite accurate. This statue has been described as ‘The three barristers who fought for India’. I have captured it well for you to see and uploaded this to Google map. As this is historically important moment captured. There is also a life-size statue of Sardar Patel in the premises where he can be seen in a saluting pose against the backdrop of two maps of India and with words that call him ‘The architect of Modern India’. The building looks impressive not just during the day but also at night when is fully lit and looks magnificent.Must visit place to understand in Detail about Sardar Patel.Take out sufficient time to be there satisfactorily if you are interested in history.

The Sardar of Must Visit Places When In AhmedabadIf you read my review about Gandhi Ashram Ahmedabad (also known as Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad or Gandhijis House in Ahmedabad), then you will relate with this review better. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial further exposes the cunning past of the Khan-Nehru-Indira Gandhi-Rajiv Gandhi-Sonia Gandhi-Rahul Gandhi-Robert Vadra dynasty. Its a shame that no one visits this memorial. Neither the tourists nor the locals.Everyone rushes only to the Gandhi Ashram, all thanks to the cunning strategy of Khan-Nehru-Indira Gandhi dynasty which piggy-backed on their adopted surname of Gandhi to mask their pseudo-secular identity and ideology. Even in their promotion and publicity of the name(Mahatma) Gandhi, they only promoted the Khan-Nehru-Indira Gandhi Dynasty. Thats why even after 70 years of Independence, even the Italians are ruling and looting the nation in the name of Gandhi. What a master-strategy!No doubt Mahatma Gandhi was at the helm of Indias freedom struggle, but the Khan-Nehru-Indira Gandhi dynasty did tremendous injustice to veterans like Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastriji, and countless other freedom fighters who sacrificed everything of theirs for our independence. And what a Machiavellian scheming it was by the Khan-Nehru-Indira Gandhi dynasty that the memorials of all the great freedom fighters have become homes just for cobwebs.Thats why, when in Ahmedabad, The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial is a very important place to visit. I would say, more important than the Sabarmati Ashram. Because had Sardar Patel been our first prime minister, India wouldve been the most liveable place on Earth. So do take a lot of time in hand when you visit this memorial. Carry light snacks and water so that you can sit in its beautiful green lawns and ponder over questions like What if Sardar Patel wouldve been our first PM?.....How did Nehru become the first PM even when Sardar Patel was chosen by the committee?.... Why you dont know much about Sardar Patel even though he did so much for our freedom?.... What were Nehrus intentions when he disregarded Sardar Patels stance on Kashmir.... How could Nehru not listen to even a single decision which was in the interest of India?.....Nation’s tribute to the Iron Man of India - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel........This National Museum is housed in a historical location in the Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad. This monument earlier known as Moti Shahi Mahal was constructed by Shah Jahan between 1618 and 1622. It was later used as a British cantonment to house the senior officials. After the Indian independence, from 1960 to 1978, this place served as the Raj Bhavan the official residence of the Governor of Gujarat In the year 1978, the building was transformed into a national memorial dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The museum showcases photographs, personal belongings and artifacts related to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and also includes two multimedia halls that through light on various aspects of Sardar’s life and work. The various items displayed in the memorial gives the visitors a nice insight on the invaluable contributions made by Sardar Patel for the Freedom of India and the mammoth task of integration of princely states after Independence. The museum also offers a beautiful garden, Souvenir shop, parking facilities, neat and clean toilets and a very well managed Food court.Visiting Hours & FeesMuseum Timing9:30AM To 5:00PM | (Monday Holiday)Fees :Adult ₹ 20 | Child ₹ 10 (Less than 5 years free)3D Show Timing7:00PM To 7:45PM | (Sat & Sun only)Fees :Adult ₹ 30 | Child ₹ 10Every Indian should visit this National Memorial of Sardar Patel Ji as a tribute to his great contributions to India....

Through his strong willpower and adroitness, he tactfully guided Indias integration into a united nation. India was divided into more than five hundred sixty five princely states. Since I was early I was able to visit all sections of this place. Touching of things is prohibited. Facts of the freedom struggle and write-ups and painting of freedom fighters are put up on the ground/underground floor. Repair work was in progress due to the leakage. Sadar Patels statue is there with a tricolour Indian map in the background. Looks like a palace converted to a museum. It was gifted to Gandhi.
