This restaurant is disgraceful. They do not serve table water “because of covid”. We asked one lady and she said it’s because of covid that they aren’t able to serve tap water, then the other lady told us that it’s because their tap is broken. As this is a licensed venue that serves alcohol, they are legally required to serve water.Does not make any sense as they sell green tea, which requires water and a waiter told us it is because they boil that water.Really crazy and disappointed as it is an expensive restaurant.

Went to Don Don for dinner with a friend, and we both ate very well! We loved the 1.5 hour (please confirm?) all-you-can-eat option, their neat selection of barbecue meats and side dishes were all delicious! Service friendly and timely, despite it being busy during the evening. I knew I had a really good meal when I came home smelling like smoke and marinade.

We came in family: 2 adult and 1 child. They charged us as 3 adults (child>12 years as on the website). When I came home, rang them; they said they changed the policy: >10 is adult, but my child is not 10 yet. I had to come back and showed them my sons passport to prove that. Food is ok but better to be more transparent.

WISH CAN PUT 0 STARS. Bad customer service ever had. We just confused why the final price was higher than we thought, so we went back to the restaurant because we really wondered about it, and we asked the cashier nicely. However he just rudely told us and pointed at the 1% surcharge of card charge with his finger and just told us that something like “1 percent charged with a card.” He didn’t even tell us before when we paid for it. That’s why we didn’t know and curious about it. After that when we understood, he made a expression on his face that was like he saw something that very ridiculous and silly. He could tell us even more nicely and could just tell us he forgot to tell us about that.

This place used to be the best in town a few years back and has now downgraded. The appetisers all tasted like leftovers from weeks ago, especially the pancakes. The servers were rushing us so they could clean our grill leaving us with half raw meat… closing time was an hour away. They have also increased the price, definitely pricey for the quality of the food. Do not recommend, regret not listening to previous reviews.

Actually I don’t want to give this restaurant even one star as the food was super terrible, the meats that we’ve ordered were not in standard, what I really mean is that the beef and pork weren’t fresh and poor quality. The older lady who looked like a manager or owner also super rude and impatient when I was transferring the money from the bank account, I’m also feel sorry for the staff work in there as I saw the owner was really rude to them. I can only say that the food and service weren’t worth the price.

I’ve never ever been to a worst Korean restaurant in my life. Foods were very horrible and small portions. All the meat was not even served in a good quality and tasted like garbage to be honest. Soups were so salty and the seafoods in the spicy seafood soup are not fresh. I will never ever come back again unless you want to get food poisoning.

Staff were attentive and fast, servers did seem a tad rushed at times when taking our orders however, I could understand being very busy and they just wanted to deliver our orders in a timely manner (don’t get offended if they do not give small chit chat) . The orders came out fast and delicious. Well priced buffet and large variety of choices and quality and delicious. Do book ahead (weekends) as it gets busy. Don’t be shy to call out to server however, remember be to polite and say thank you as it can get busy. Thumbs up.

If you want to enjoy meat only, this restaurant can offer good beef for barbecue. However, the other hot food like dumplings and pancake was like wastes. Moreover, the restaurant staffs are lack patience and rude, especially the leader. Moreover, if you pay the bill by cash and not check by yourself, the front desk might receive more notes and refuse the check again. Consequently, good beef worth 1 star, but the others no star.

Worst food in town!As a local food reviewer which I have been to too many places across the world, I never ever been to a worst restaurant ever in my life. They did not wash the lettuce and its full of dirt. The foods in this restaurant did not pass any Korean foods standard. It was salty but some were full of sugars. They also created sub charged 1.5% for credit card usage. The place was old and the whole environment was not please.

The food was good, but the portions were small and the number of meals served was always less than we ordered. The waiter at the cashier was very rude and impatient .First, she made a mistake about the number of people we were . So I paid more money even though I had doubted about the amount I need to pay.Finally, they changed the number of people, but refused to admit that they were taking extra money, and refused our checking camera about the cashier took more money on as they were too busy. I was very disappointed and frustrated.

Disappointed in the food service. Small portions and long waits for food once we ordered more. Always turning the heat to the lowest possible so it takes longer to cook, taking up the overall time given. Also sad to see the food isn’t the exact same MEAT as shown on the menu. Sad to even be paying nearly $40 a person for basically 30 minutes of eating barely anything. Highly do not recommend this place.

Booked a table over the phone and arrived with no table for us, manager tried to blame it on us for not booking but then realised they accidentally gave our table away for someone else. Very understaffed and tried to rushed us the entire time. Also no table water despite being a licensed premise.

The manager of the restaurant has a very low emotional intelligence. When she could have explained something well, she treated the customer with a very bad attitude and even laughed at the customers. So their service is very poor. It cost $10 a bottle to open the wines. There is no evidence of change on the receipt for payment. There is no table water. The waiters couldnt even match the menu with the dishes. There are so many reasons their ratings are so low.

I was feeling still hungry after 90mins buffetFirst at all, The waiter told us the 90mins of buffet started since we sit down, not even order anything.Also, the restaurant has no tap water provided, you can only order $3 small bottle water if you want to drink, the food all very small portions, and serving very slow, lots kind of food are not available to order.As my friend and I, total 3 people, they only serve a very small dish to usThe owner/manger told us we need to do the last order when we still had 40 mins left. And for the last order, we can only order 3 kind of meat because she dont want us waste food (But we all still hungry).Overall, If you want to experience the worlds worst buffet, please dont hesitate to go to this restaurant, I can guarantee you will not regret it.

Give this one a miss. Without a doubt the worst korean bbq Ive been. For so many reasons:- a time limited all you can eat (100minutes) with last orders at 80mins, yet at 70 mins they came to our table stating last order. Similarly at 90 mins they cleared our table- cooking on kitchen paper to save them cleaning the grill plate (also slowing the cooking and broiling the meat). We tried to stop using it and were told off- pork belly that seemed more like beef, but we didnt want to ask- rice wine (makgeolli) came as halzenut flavoured without asking for it. Second bottle when I asked the owner was regular- way over priced basic soju ($17 for something worth $10 max)- sides lacked vegetable ingredients (japchae, pajeon) so was literally just base ingredient- for the price $35ea, an extremely basic atmosphere- sauces/condiments were straight from a supermarket bottle it seems- filling a pancake with onion doesnt make it seafood

Not worth going, such a bad experience and time wasted. I booked a table for two but the staffs set us in front of the door in a cold condition that wind would flow. The female manager started to get very angry and tried to yell at me when we asked “can we sit to this empty table”. Besides, why would I reserve a table if I want this kind of service?

We’ve been to Don Don’s three times. The food selection is pretty good and the flavors are what I am after. My partner made a booking for my birthday and they had not written it down and didn’t have a table for us and was a bit rude, it really bummed us out as he had booked Don Don’s because he knows how much I liked it. Didn’t take a drink order from us and let us sit for a long time before getting our order but still rushed us at the time limit time, though we didn’t have an order in! That being said, every restaurant has its bad days and the food and experience is normally really good. I will be back to try again at some point.

Unheard of restaurant, no table water, around one dollar fee paid by card, is the most expensive of all restaurants, and the service attitude is so bad that the staff cant remember the menu. LA rib has no bones, just three pieces of meat. The quantity is less and less and the price is more and more expensive. This restaurant has been getting worse and worse every year. Also the conditions to pay for the food that is left is not really good, if someone cant finish they shouldnt be forced to finish it or to pay extra if they didnt finish the meal.... after the meal i was so thirsty because there was no table water served due to covid... Very bad experience and poor customer service! Some items were severed frozen to be cooked. The lady keep asking us to to keep a silly baking sheet on top of the grill for just cleaning purposes!! She said several times that cleaning of the grill takes time!!!while putting a baking sheet make it worst and the meat were just boiling instead of grilling!!So disappointed about them. I lived in Korea for three years so i know how they do bbq and that was one of the worst Korean food ever!I even did not take any photos because i was so disappointed with everything there.

Sorry but $38 PER PERSON FOR THIS QUALITY OF MEAL? absolutely appalling.. the only meat that was alright was the wagyu beef slices. we ordered a soup which was never brought out so we didnt worry about it.. they kept turning down our heat because there was too much smoke in the restaurant which also meant our food was taking forever to cook and they had the door open with the cold breeze coming in.. they only brought out single servings of meat at a time which for two people at $105.80 is so disappointing.

The service and staff attitude are very poor. The receipt at the time of consumption has no record of giving and change, which is a very important piece of evidence. When you give too much money, you cant get your money back because of the evidence. The money was left in the cash register without counting it. When the customer has a problem, the service is very poor. I would not recommend where to eat.(personal opinion only)

The food quality is good but you go through some trauma and torture by sitting there. The staff are very rude and they may yell at the customers. The power capacity is not sufficient for the table and they appear very often to change the degree of temperature of BBQs. They are also breaching SA liquor licensing act by not providing free drinking water to the customers. Never going back there even though I enjoyed the food.

What a joke!!! Booked online for reservation of 3 people, turned up 10 minutes late due to heavy traffic and apparently booking was already cancelled. The girl cannot even show evidence that our table was booked in, stated that her list is already a new list for 6PM...a very quick decision and very futuristic list that she predicted that we cannot turned up on time. Good one, DonDon Bbq...next time, make up for a better reason. You wasted our time and our paid parking. Dont ever go there because they are inconsiderate people, not even thinking that there was footy at the moment and just 10 minutes late!!!

We invited 13 friends for dinner at Don Don because we personally tried it before and the food was good. But last night, service was a big embarrassment. Horrible customer service. The lady manager/owner was very rude to our group upon arrival, very aggressive to all even to her staff members. Worst I have experienced in Adelaide.We were constantly told that we had to finish our food before the 100 minute time limit as we sat down- we barely had time to sit down and look at the menu and she kept pushing us, asking us for our orders.I confronted her and asked if she could be a bit more nicer, a bit more gentle with her approach because she was really aggressive and making us really nervous and stressed the first 5 mins we stepped into their restaurant, and her reply was So what you want me to do?. Me and my friends told her if she can calm down, to relax, to take a chill pill as it was most of our friends first time there and we want them to enjoy the experience. She was unapologetic, aggressive and unfriendly. Not what you expect from paying $39 dollar meal.Never ever going back. I suggest you do not come here for food. Your soul deserves to be treated better.

I went to eat with my partner the service and food was horrendous. Firstly the rice was old from yesterday which was served dry and cold. As an experienced hospitality person, it’s understandable to have old rice but at least try to rehydrate the rice and not serve it cold! The meat was an absolute joke, literally tasted like rubber or GARBAGE if I was to be honest. The soups was watery, with literally the tiniest about of ingredients you can find in all that water. It looks completely different from the menu photo with LITERALLY 1/5 of what’s suppose to be served. I found a hair and SCOURER (steel wool) that are used to clean dishes in my meat. That is 100% a safety hazard which should be no where in any circumstances near food. The owner is constantly turning the level of heat to the lowest because there’s “too much smoke” I’ve never been to a KBBQ that doesn’t have exhausted or fans to take the smoke away! In my opinion they are just stingy people who wants their customer to spend longer time in cooking rather than eating to save money. It’s a all you can eat buffet, I’m paying money to eat not watch my meat cook! I personally put the heat up so my meat is charred so it doesn’t taste like it was blanched in water. As we order servings for 2 or more it will always come out as a single serve, this business is the absolute worst restaurant I’ve been to in my life. The toilets are not cleaned with some vomit looking substance in the toilet bowl when I went to use it, un flushed. The Korean BOSS should be ashamed of him self trying cut out time when we have only been there for 70 minutes, he tried to tell use we had 10 minutes left and put RAW MEAT ON TOP OF OUR COOKED MEAT! A person with common sense and that owns a restaurants know NOT to put raw meat on top of cooked meat under any circumstances. He told use we were greedy for ordering too much food and not eating it so he charges is $9.90 each on top of our bill which was $105.60 for a 2 person kbbq buffet. Firstly his not HONEST about the time we had left and secondly he does not know how to HANDLE FOOD SAFELY. I would not recommend you eat at this place unless you want to get food poisoning.

If this place ramped up their customer service and had better air conditioning/ air flow, better system to order food it could do so much better. For some of my friends’ farewell I booked the buffet dinner for 10 people two days ahead. When I arrived there, with my guests, the restaurant owner told me to leave the place because they were overbooked. I requested him to manage something for us. I told him I got guests with me including a child and it would be very embarrassing for me if we had to leave without dinner, and it would not be possible for us to get dinner in other restaurants without prior booking. He still asked us to leave. When I said it was very unfair for us, he told me we would have to wait 30 minutes which I agreed. But, then he changed his mind, and said we would have to wait 1 hour. Having no other alternative options I agreed to wait for 1 more hour, but within few minutes he changed his mind again, and told us to leave. He said that he had other customers coming who would stay until the restaurant was closed. I asked him, why he wanted to serve other customers who had not arrived yet, not us who were already there waiting to be served. He replied to me saying it was his restaurant he could do whatever he like to do. I told him I would complain. He replied that he did not care, and I could do whatever I wanted to do. We left the place immediately, but I felt very embarrassed, disappointed, humiliated, and upset. In my five years of living experience in Australia I never faced such kind of rude, and shocking misbehavior from anyone before.

Stay away from this place guys. Most of the time they take over booking. If you are unlucky one, you will be kicked out when you turn up with your booking. By looking at physical appearance and attire they decide which customers to serve and which one to kick out. So dont risk yourself to be there. If they dont like your appearance they willl cancel your booking on your arrival and kick you out. The owner do not take into account your prestige and inconvenience.

Went here with a few friends to have some great food and you did not disappoint! The staff were constantly checking if we were ok, if we wanted to order more and if we needed anything. They are very caring and cleaned our grill numerous times during our stay.Also I see some people complaining here about the extra fee if you havent finished it. Thats only if you over order, and the extra charge goes towards giving food to the local food bank. It is going towards a good cause and I commend the owners for that.They have put in a conscious effort to do better from what the past reviews have said. I couldnt fault the place.Overall! A great experience, will be coming back again.

Went there last night. 15 of us.We were welcomed coldly. Felt rushed and pushed from the get go. The lady manager/owner was aggressive, rude, hostile. Felt intimidated and scared.We haven’t been sitting for 10 mins when she went to the table and asked us what we want(babe we haven’t even looked at the menu!) Anyway, we proceeded ordering. Decent food, there are definitely much better and authentic korean food at other places in Adelaide however, and its my first time to go to a korean style bbq with no smoke extractor. Poor customer service.We had to return the finished dishes to the counter by ourselves.We were all very thirsty because they do not serve table water, which was rather disgraceful and disappointing.Definitely will not come back.Alcohol drinks are additional cost which are fine, but they do not serve table water. *thumbs down*

Food wasn’t bad, the experience is what you expect from a Korean bbq which is awesome! A few things we didn’t appreciate was attempting to wave down staff which couldn’t take our order multiple times as they are already remembering too many tables orders. The air ventilation is poor and would definitely benefit from some form of fans to keep the whole restaurant from becoming smokey.The staff were mostly okay however there were some definite stand out negatives. When we had our grill cleaned the staff member came over and in a rude tone asking us how long we had been using it for and rushed to take all food off, we didn’t know what was happening thinking we had broken a rule until they begun wiping it down. At least some warning that it needs to be cleaned would’ve been appreciated instead of a rushed annoyed tone that we couldn’t understand. Also keep in mind the lack of tap/table water, it is required to buy bottled water at least.Overall it would be made a much better experience if the staff were friendlier, and it was made easier to order (anyway to contact staff so they can come to you when ready instead of trying to get their attention). And some air ventilation.

I dont usually leave bad reviews - especially during this time but after reading many reviews on google. I think we are all in the same boat.I used to go DON DON very often. It was my favourite korean bbq place - my first time back there since being away for a few months. Unfortunately, the service was appalling. The lady manager was very rude (tone of voice, no eye contact and poor body language) - from entering the restaurant, ordering food to even paying for our food! We had issues with our card, instead of being patient, she was extremely rude and rushed us, to the point I felt anxious and just transferred her funds (unprofessional). Please also be-aware, I understand it is a buffet style restaurant, however they expect you to finish the very last piece of meat on the plate. If you dont, they will charge you $10 per plate that you have food left over... even 1 piece of meat will incur $10 fee. I am disappointed and most likely will not return here after this. The overall service was quite poor too. Food is average. If the food is average and the service was excellent - our whole experience would have been nice and the review would have been a 4 star.

I have been here for several times. The food here is delicious! The service here is so nice. I chose here to celebrate for friends’ birthday twice, being treated very nice by the staff. Highly recommend!

One of the best Korean bbq and it is in buffet style. Fantastic choices in food selection with decent cuts of meat. My favorite is the pork belly and LA ribs. If you like eggs try the Gyeran Jjim, best egg hot soup ever!

Just went for lunch with my friends arrived there at 12 o clock with a reservation however, there was no one around. Around 6 minutes later the man appeared in the front door other than that 6 minute wait it was amazing and personally a 5 star experience very simple and straight up. The man had some sense of humour and was very kind when helping us to order food. My friend and I chose the spicy pork belly, marinated beef ribs and drumsticks (I forgot true name) all were delicious, these were supported with the side dishes of mix fried rice and lettuce. Everything was easy and simple and very reasonable for price, we payed $34 for our all you can eat lunch. Meat was both tender and quick to cook. The cooking plate although black, still was cleaned and washed from my viewing. Everything was clean and delicious. The waiter who was very kind and helpful was always checking in on us and making sure everything was good. Apart from all this my only two problems is the amount of dust on the box that the utensils were in and the dust underneath the tables as well as the small amount which in this case only one person was serving us. I guess it’s understandable since it was only lunch time but two people would I guess make things easier. But putting aside these small problems personally this place is underrated, has a lot of potential and is a great place to eat.

Hey guys, just let u know I had a really ridiculous and desperate experience tonight. The owner, who repeatedly emphasized he has power to decide who to serve or not, well, then I guess I also have power to tell my story and choose not to come here anymore. The owner just rudely drove me and my friend, just because he mistreated me as another Chinese girl who left one star comment on the app before, without any proof it was me. At first, I was shocked and tried to explain. I told him last time I went here was one year ago; I showed him my username on the app; I told him I never did a part-time job in Adelaide, when he tried to reminded me that last time he saw me, I was wearing a uniform of a sushi train. Then I gave up gradually, cuz I realized he never wanna an explanation, or apologize what he has done to we two girls. he maybe just hated my nationality, since I am Chinese. So sad that a owner of a Korean restaurant has racial discrimination. So sad I decided to bring my new friend here. He went out and took a photo of mine. We used to come here very often and i dont leave bad reviews but we were treated unfairly tonight.they told us we werent allowed to order the amount we usually order because they had to take care of other customers. which was fine. however, the way the owner kept going on about it after and made us uncomfortable.we also had a group of us come in to eat and some didnt end up eating but were charged full price for just sitting there. one was 10 years old and she was charged full adult price. which the owner reasoned that we should of told him in advance.we definitely wont be returning

The food was ok but I think their cleaning is not up to date. The dinning area was dirty due to bad ventilation (need a better ventilation than other restaurant especially for a DIY BBQ restaurant). The wall was sticky with dust on it. Can’t imagine how the kitchen actually look like.

Refusing to serve free table water while also having alcohol in their drinks menu. Clearly violates responsible service of alcohol.I tried the bibimbap. It was ok I guess but the small portion for how much I paid was disappointing.
