Polo forest is a perfect one day getaway from Ahmedabad. It’s approx 150 kms (3 to 3.5 hrs) drive from the Ahmedabad city. One must reach there latest by 09:00 am to enjoy it to the fullest. There is a huge parking space just at the entry checkpoint and from there you can either choose to walk or take auto rickshaw till the trekking point. There are few good trek options for which guide can be hired. There is also a dam, ancient temples, river to explore. Only option for food in the forest area is the stalls along the road where you will get maggi, parantha, tea, lemon water, fruit chaat and water bottle.Overall a beautiful picturesque location to send a day with family and friends in the lap of nature.

Must visit place once in a life. But jain temples are still closed so you inquiry first before visiting.Best season is after the monsoon.

Place is now open for public but only on Sat - Sunday we are told so do inquire before you go on weekday.Good place for one day trip after monsoon. Currently River stream is dry not much water as monsoon just started yet but beautiful place for day trip.Jain Temple and polo camp site still closed. You can only visit Dam and Check dams on the way but not much water.

The forest has ruins of several 15th-century Hindu and Jain temples such as Sharneshwar Shiva temple, Sadevant Savlinga na Dera, Surya Mandir and Lakhena na Dera. There is a yagnakunda with well carved vedi in front of the temple. The mandovara, pitha (base) and vedika are adorned with post-Chaulukya styled carvings. The round pillars differ from this style and are plain with intervals of ringlets on the shaft and inverted lotus patterned capital and base. The shikhara and roofs of porches and mandapa are destroyed.[5] The carvings on exterior walls include double jangha adorned with images of Yama, Bhairava, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Indra, Parvati, Indrani, Ganesha; social life scenes; bands of humans, elephants, swans and plants. It was an amazing, exciting experience. This time we enjoyed the food. Also I would to love to suggest this to all the people who loves adventures, as well as covering many places in short time period. Its really safe for all the girls. Also, the instructors were very cooperative and taught us many things. How can I forget about the bonfires, Garba, and songs nd DJ at night.

Polo Forest Forest is located in Vijayanagar taluka of Sabarkantha district. It is 70 km from Himmatnagar and 150 km from Ahmedabad. The river Harnav flows through the middle of this forest. Large dams and many small barrages have been built. You can come here for twelve months. You can also get a one-day picnic. The best time to come here is during the monsoon, when nature will be seen blossoming with its sixteen arts, which will captivate your mind.
